Thank you for sharing. I've lost friendships becuase they told me to just "take a Tylenol." Nothing has worked for me, including prescription meds, which caused severe depression and suicidal ideation. I'm visiting my Doc next month and am going to mention Emgality:)))

Hi, i can relate to a lot of what your saying regards having to live with Fibromyalgia. For many years it's been part of my life, & to a point part of many others lives who know me or are are aquainted with me. For a long time in the late '90's i just tried my best to deni my poor health, but being married, having children, coping with juggling working, & so much more... finally took it's toll on me, to the point where i feel totally "broken" both emotionally, physically, & mentally. But all i can do is take one day at a time & pace myself, accept help (which i find extreemely hard to do still, after over 40yrs of living with Fibromyalgia). 😊

42 years for me. The most mysterious debilitating medical illness on earth. We are as sick as one can be without dying. To be honest and without sugar coating anything for FM, CFS, ME patients we are no closer to a cure nor adequate effective treatment then we were 42 years ago. Note to all: If you do not have the following 3 symptoms then you do not have Fibromyalgia. Many doctor's have misdiagnosed this condition. There are no proven medical test to confirm Fibromyalgia. Thus the reason it may take years before a proper medical diagnosis can be made. There are many other symptoms however these following 3 conditions will let you know you have been accurately diagnosed. 1. Wide spread pain throughout the body, EVERYDAY! 2. Fatigue - A sever and overwhelming exaustion at any time of the day. Not necessarily every day. 3. Profound & intense non restorative Sleep Disorder. FM patients cannot fall into what is know as Slow Wave Delta Sleep. We have a constant inability to get deep sleep REM. Our brains are constantly awaken by what is called Alpha Wave Intrusion. A sleep study or what is medically known as a polysomography will identify this. There are 4 know stages of FM ranging from 1 to 4. Stage 4 being the most severe. I have spent the better part of my last 42 years researching and studying FM. Fibromyalgia is like an alarm system in the body that continues to ring although there is no reason the alarm continues to sound off. FM is not a new condition despite what people beleive as it has been well documented in excess of 100 years. Hello from beautiful Canada 🇨🇦

40 years is such a long time to deal with fibromyalgia. I was like, "Wow!" But then I realized that for me, it's been 32 years. It's tough when doctors don't have the answers, isn't it? I've tried so many things too, and it still rocks my world everyday. Hang in there and hopefully we’ll keep finding new ways to manage it better. 💜

You don't need a cordless mop. You need a ROBOT mop! I have 2 floor cleaning robots and one is a mop as well and they are LIFE CHANGING when you have fibromyalgia. I can have a lie down while the robot cleans the floor. You still need a cordless vacuum sometimes for getting into corners etc. But it means a cleaner house with way less effort. Pro tip: Look for a robot vacuum/mop that you can send to a specific area to clean so you can spot clean without having to lift the robot as they can be quite heavy. That way you can quickly clean up a mess without having to vacuum or mop an entire room. Hope this helps.

I had that during my separations physical when I got out of the Marines. They said it was severe anxiety, lol. As crazy as it sounds what helps the most is exercise, especially elliptical machine at the gym or just going for a jog. It's like it burns all the adrenaline off. The downside is you feel horrific and dizzy during the first few minutes of a workout.

Read the book "Super Gut" by William Davis. He shows by his research that fibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, chronic fatigue and many other chronic illnesses are the result of an overgrowth of negative bacteria and fungus. This situation can be reversed by diet and avoidance of certain foods and food additives. I personally know three people who have transformed their lives with this information and protocol. Well worth reading his book it may transform your life.

This is a very comprehensive list of coping skills with fibromyalgia, but I like your spin on it of "living"! I've learned some new things from this, and you've reinforced some findings I've had in my long fibromyalgia journey as being what other people come up with as well. Thanks for all the effort you do to make such quality content, Daniela! You are much appreciated. One insight I might share is with regard to doctor specialties. When I was diagnosed in 1994, I felt like rheumatologists were really engaged as the go-to specialty for our condition. But now, they seem the quickest to dismiss us. I did have a great relationship last year with a rheumatologist, but unfortunately his practice does not take my new insurance, so I had to go elsewhere. If I change back to an insurance he takes, I'll be sure to return to him.

OMG!! I hate to say I know how you feel, only because I don't want to diminish your pain in any way. But what you you just read was so similar to my MRI reading I received at the end of April of this year for my cervical spine and the CT-scan from my lumbar spine last fall before the last fall. I have 4 levels of bilateral stenosis (compression) in the cervical spine and 2 levels of central stenosis in the cervical spine with new bone growth that was not there in March of 2023 when they did a bony fusion at C6/7 and removed 3 spikey osteophytes as well as a ton of scar tissue from the 2006 fusion where the scar tissue became adhesions and didn't stop growing causing twice the amount of time to do the surgery. I am now waiting for the surgical scheduler to call for the 3rd fusion and this time they are going to put stabilizing cables in from the back after they complete the fusion from the front. I am so extremely sorry you are facing this pain! I would not want anyone to feel this! Last night I laid in bed for about three hours with fiery hot nerve pain in the right side of my face unable to do anything but try to hold still so the pain would not increase. I want to be able to live a life that does not require me to stay alone in this bed. I really hope you get the meds you need to help you. I don't know what is next after this surgery for me, But I hope I will be able to laugh more with out trying to hold back out of fear of pain.

Crazy pain and wide spread neuropathy . I’ve been referred for Ketamine but cannot afford it. I am not far from Toronto but haven’t found a clinic tha doesn’t charge 750 dollars per infusion.
