I’m not a perfect instructor myself, just saying when I do mock check rides I will not help the student with anything more than the examiner will. I don’t do anything like help with the instrument procedures, or things to look out for like alts, hdgs, checklists. The examiner won’t do any of that unless the applicant is severely struggling. The purpose of the mock checkride is to see what, if anything, the student is going to fail on. You shouldn’t have to walk the student through the maneuvers as they are doing them. They have been trained prior to this assessment flight, let them perform. Not saying be stone cold quiet but they are there to shine not be cradled. Great flight and video anyhow.

Great stuff as always! I'm newer IFR pilot cancelled to get better altitudes yesterday! Thanks for the videos Troy. We flew into tornado ally aviation and there were lots of Bonanzas there. One of our friends had turbo redone there on a G36. Great planes. We fly a PA 32 6/260.

2 years ago you could get those prices but not anymore, double if not higher on all of that! I own a 75 Beech Sierra I paid 63k for in 2020 and now they sell for well over 100k. People have lost their minds on prices. I hope we see the planes/homes/car market cool off over the next year or two.

I think sully did his job as stated. The hero was giving to him for no loss if life by media. But he knows what he did to make the best choice he knew. I do belive he was for himself more than the passengers.. cause if he can make it he can assume the rest will as well..

So were you considered to be outside of the Bravo the entire time you traversed the SFR Area, and therefore no communications with ATC?
@troy_kinsey
@troy_kinsey Жыл бұрын
That’s the interesting thing: you’re very much in the bravo, but exempt from communicating with or receiving a clearance from ATC while observing the special flight rules.

I do like the video. And I do like how you moderate what you're doing. Plus I do understand the pressure to arrive at a certain time. But we don't cancel an IFR flight because ATC is giving us a hard time. That's bad airman ship. Get up an hour early to deal with deviations. It's part of our job.
