My 2011 Prius had a CVT. That was my least favorite thing about the car.

CVTs are a good concept but they make them so cheap. imagine they made a Heavy Duty CVT

Yeah, this is definitely part of the problem. But that would likely make them heavier (and it's rotating mass, so, yikes), more expensive, and larger.

Miata was a crux point in automotive history. While pretend "drivers" obsess over 0-60 times, and stoplight antics, the Miata was a BALANCED drivers car that was best on the track. Even with those early low-100hp engines, a good driver in a Miata would clown muscle cars and rice-racers all day long on an Autocross course or a good winding track. High hp often ruins the Miata. It should stay balanced. Not saying 100s of hp in a Miata isn't fun (it is) but it is not in the spirit of a Miata.

Something else when making the fuel cells is hydrogen like to just go through material so that's another reason why the tanks have to be very thick

I'm on the fence about wrapping my car, versus trying to polish the paint. It's a Ford Flex so considerably bigger, but also much straighter panels with fewer curves. I kinda thought there was more heating and stretching involved in a wrap though.

Just buy machine forged aloy rims and add semi slicks. Isn’t impossible to warm the tires up and they probably will be lighter then the f1’s

3:36 Car's CVT's are only simple in concept. In execution they are SLIGHTLY less complicated than a traditional full blown auto with clutch packs and gears and generally use higher line pressure and do not tolerate wear and neglect (seal leaks, metal wear, metal floating around in the oil, et al) at the same level and capacity than a traditional autobox.

I installed an inline kill switch hidden from view. I am fairly sure the thieves will just give up when they can't start the car. Too much trouble, they will move on to an easier target. Total cost $2. Time to install less than 5 minutes.

I love feeling lower to the ground in my Legacy. It's nice going into turns and not feeling like I'm a wind gust away from rolling over. And it just feels "sportier" being lower

Cvt was also invented by Leonardo da Vinci used since then in various applications for different machinery and in just about every single prop airplane. Also, CvT is in the way people interpret them is a good way to help. People understand superficial societal constructs.

Snowmobiles have used CVT's for their drive systems for yr's, if you ever owned one you know you always carried spare belts.

anything not built correctly and cheaply will have issues. so tired of ppl saying cvts are trash. there are millions of cvts on the road. F1 banned the CVT. that tells you all you need to know to understand. people just like hopping on band wagons.

I drive a Toyota RAV4 Exec 2.5L Hybrid, 222HP combined. I have no problem at all with no shifts, cause my RAV4 doesn't shift. No real shifts, but also no fake shifts. It just accelerates at the same RPM. 8 sec 0-60mph for a 1750kg heavy car ain't bad. Only when put in 'manual shift', it has a kind of fake shifts. I checked on the internet and Toyota seems to have the most reliable CVT around, with little to no problems. My dealer lives one door over, so he won't con me. I know where he lives 🤣 Had a manual gear RAV4 before this one, started to get pain in the left knee in traffic, so the next one had to be an automatic and with Toyota, that means a CVT. And I like it. It's quick, quiet and I do 35 TO 42 mile/gallon, depending on traffic and my right foot.
