Rest in peace brother You are one of the reasons I started playing guitar back in 1970 and still play today. It's going to be a good time whenever I get up there with you guys that have gone on before me and jam brother!!!

Yeah guys, shit didn’t go to well, it’s 2024, Lindor sucks with the Mets. Houston basically owns :has owned the league. Your name changed and McDonald’s now pays 15.00$ an hour. We got a lot to talk avout

I made a video out of Saturday Night Special from St Petersburg, FL, 1975. I put up pictures of Gary riffing on this song. I love the solos. I got my info from Winterland to make sure it was Gary on guitar. Love those solos.

I've always LOVED the POWER of Workin' for the MCA. It has big balls. It might have been a gimmick of a song, but the band created a song with real balls all the same.

I think One More Time is not only Skynyrd at its best, and some of Ronnie’s best singing, but Gary’s prettiest & tightest solo work.. 😊💕👍

Agreed! Very much like Gibbons and Gilmour. Not many players have an instantly recognizable style/sound, but he certainly did! When you find yourself humming along with a guitar solo, that’s when you know you’re hearing something extraordinary, and all three of the above players had many of those!🤘

I always liked that intro he played on "That Smell", and love the feedback effect on the studio recording. I watch this live 1977 black and white once in a while as I thought it was so cool, and just months before the plane crash. Gaines was going to be a maestro. Love the piano in this song as well. Best band ever (IMO) with the triple guitar attack: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ns-SZ9Fqt9OqooU.html

I would have loved to have seen more Muscle Shoals-era or 1969-72 demo work on this list, as I could think of at least a few from that era worth mentioning. Like Eric Clapton's work with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Gary Rossington still had the "fire of youth" on his side as he was still just a teenager or just out of his teens during those sessions. The last solo on "You Run Around" with that sweet "woman tone" comes to mind
