Brilliant! Love this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve set up workshop dates in at a company convention in conjunction with employees signing up for shared rooms. Typically, employees have multiple timeframe windows to get their rooms and various discounts for room signup (early bird, middle season, late bird), knowing the date range when 1,000s of people come from across the country would have made my life so much easier. Then, I could have set up dependent functions for issuing the room and ticket discounts. Thank you Jeff. I appreciate your kindness and wisdom!

I love your videos, they're short and sweet. However, if a sheet has no table and has a Named Range, it could be included as a table. I copied the values of a table to a new Worksheet and named the entire range of values to "Sheet1Range". The problem is that even though it looked identical to other tables, the first row is had not been promoted. After filtering Query1 I added the following: =Table.AddColumn(Source, "Custom", each if List.First(Record.FieldNames([Content]{0})) <> "TransID" then Table.PromoteHeaders([Content]) else [Content]) That checks to see that gets the field names of the top (first) row of the table and promotes the headers in the table if the first column is not named "TransID". Still a great video!

Hello Jeff... I was viewing another video of yours related to Power Query, and remembered that I was stuck with how to use the "range lookup" feature in a Power Query query. I searched your channel and found this video. I have a range of start times with their associated text values in a "TimeSlot" column as Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night. At present I'm using the XLOOKUP function to fill the TimeSlot column in another table that is returned by Power Query. This is because I couldn't find the relevant Power Query M code to return this sort of "approximate" lookup value for records with different time values stored in them. If such a thing can be done using PQ, could you please cover this in another tutorial? Thanks! 🙂

Great video. Can I use another cell NEXT to the floor function in order to fill in what quantity each product comes in? That is, one product comes in packages of 5, another in 12 etc. What type of formula I will use so excel understands that each line must be rounded up (or down) to a specific multiple that is included in another cell? Hey! Great video! Question: Is there a way to have excel look at a range of numbers or selected numbers and evaluate them to find which combinations of the range of numbers matches a particular number? For example: i. Excel Bank statement says there are 15 different POS VISA payments of differing values on Jan. 1-10th. Randomly, i look at one that says $56. Cool. ii. Client's QuickBooks excel file for Jan. says that there are 42 different entries that (should) make up all 15 POS visa pymts on BS. iii. I want to start with $56 entry. So i have to look and manually determine by sight of amounts and dates to determine which 2 or three or one (or in some cases none if myself or client did something wrong) of the QBs entries will match that BS POS visa entry of $52 and then continue to match they others until done. iv. Is there a feature that will allow me to select that $52 entry in the BS column (or multiple of them one time to make it faster) and then select the entire range from the QBs column and have it search for matchs through different combinations of those number in the QBs column? Something like that would be very useful to me at this current time as I'm trying to speed up my worktime on tasks. . Any help would be appreciated greatly.
