This airbag steering wheel design is so dumb, which BMW can simply make it more straightforward and less problematic. It shouldn't requires almost tearing your steering wheel boot just to locate a little spring. Should be like a rocker switch.

Thanks for the video on showing how to actually remove the bumper cover. Mine went exactly as yiu had shown, almost. As much as I tried I could not work around the wheel well splash guards by trying to bend them back. I ended up removing the back wheel, this also allowed me room to see the head of the 7mm screws near the wheels. Also, this area can collect a lot of dirt (mine's a 2005) so add an old tooth brush or similar to that tool list. Again, Thanks.

So I had a bad DL headlight a couple months ago on a 2015 Audio Q5 and I thought it was the ballast. I ordered two used ballasts and two new HID 5000K bulbs on eBay. I installed and they worked great. So figured it was the bulb. Now the same headlamp is showing an error on my dashboard, but it comes and goes. Sometimes the bulb will startup fine (no errors), etc. and sometimes it won't come on at all. When the bulb is own it seems to be as bright as the other one. Before I replaced, the bulb would come on but was very dim and gave be a dashboard warning. Do you think this is a faulty bulb for ballast? Because it's intermittent it's hard to swap PS components. I think the igniter is in the bulb. Thanks.

I got a passenger side headlight replaced without taking much apart on my 2012 ex35 and my hands are quite big. Now the driver side is dead and this looks crazy poor design by the manufacturer.

Can I test the bulb without the ballast? I think my ballast is bad.. So I wonder ifI can use the ballast from my H7 fog lights and somehow make it work with the D1S bulbs for my lowbeam headlight.. I would really appreciate it if you could help me, please

change it 3 times ...got tired of it ,ending up making a "rewire" bypassing it ...check ebgine is on but no problem for the last 2 yearss

So... I did exactly this and the latch mechanism still wouldn't release.... I have soaked it with liquid wrench, pounded the hood while the release is open, and still can't get that mechanism to release.... any pointers before I have to take it to a body shop?
