I watched AIDA in its "natural habitat" in the 4000 year old Temple of Karnak in Luxor in January 1987. It was a fantastic evend to listen to the singers and the performers. Extra ordinary set-up and performances you never should miss.

@@AgathaJoannaJagatayeah. I was working in a Hotel and so I was lucky to attend this performance. During this days the Hotel was fully booked all the time. People coming from around the Globe just for that, it was a very buisy time for all the Hotels.

La grandiosa Marcha Triunfal que corona el Segundo Acto de la ópera AÍDA, escrita por el compositor italiano Giuseppe Verdi, marca el regreso de Radamés, comandante de las huestes egipcias después de derrotar a las hordas etíopes comandadas por Amonasro, el rey de Etiopía y además padre de Aida, un hecho desconocido para Radamés, que está locamente enamorado de Aída. El Festival internacional de coros de Lund, en Suecia, con su orquesta de 60 músicos y 476 coristas dirigidos por el maestro Roger Andersson ha querido engalanar este auditorio y a todo el público asistente con esta magistral pieza de concierto, y en verdad lo consiguieron, robándose los vítores y aplausos de la concurrencia presente.

Because I am named after this opera, Giuseppe, I learned early on to appreciate it and one of the highlights of the entire opera is the grand march and the trumpets, which to this day whenever I hear them make my hair stand on end!!! I love it
