The first few times I heard this track I had to keep replaying the intro because of how nasty your entrance into the groove is. Thanks for doing this

Great song. Question for you. Sidewalk gets a lot of comparisions to Roxy Music and Simple minds. On certain songs. Like this song is very Roxy Music. Considering Icehosur started as a cover band, do you have any thoughts regarding what you guys were inspired by to write these? Influenced by Roxy ?

No politics, mate, but your bass is buried in the mix on this YT recording, somehow that punchy Spector is lost in the sauce . You gotta punch that thing to the front pal. come on man This is about you.

Hi Guy, I'm a big fan of yours, and you're an inspiration to me. I'm even repainting my bass the same color as you (burgundy). May I know what string gauge you usually use? Thank you!

BE ALLOWED? Are you kidding me? That bass line MAKES that song. My band is planning to rock that song out... mainly because of that Dm section.. and that bass line HAS to be there. My bass player may kill me for suggesting it...

Stumbled across Jimmy Nail's 'Growing Up ...' cd in a charity shop. I knew it had Gary Moore on the eautiful track 'Absent Friends' - but it was only when I checked out the credits I see a certain David Gilmour on several tracks. This CD is a hidden gem. Wonderful bass playing from yourself, Guy - and loving catching up on some of these old Lockdown vids.

I've been learning this song as a lark after watching Salt Burn and happened to be listening to Toy Matinee after a bandmates recommendation. I knew you were in Toy Matinee, but i had no idea this was your bass part. I remember saying to my girlfriend that "whoever wrote this bass part is a genius." Looks like i was right 🤘

Another great one. Thank you) Two questions: 1. Would anybody know whether originally (1970s) it was played with a pick throughout? By the sound of it I thought it might, but then... 2. Which other songs have a Dr. Who part? I'd know of Sheep ( mid section ), but are there more?

so in my HT I bring up the app for my woofers management and push the gain up "a few" dB beyond the 'well dialed insetting" BC - it's Guy Pratt!

Tony Levin could be playing a ukulele and you'd still be able to instantly identify him from the sound. That was the case when I first heard One Slip - my immediate reaction was - "what's Tony Levin doing playing on a Pink Floyd record - isn't he supposed to be busy with King Crimson and Peter Gabriel?". Nice version btw - very funky in typical Pratt fashion! And Wearing the Inside happens to be my favorite PF song these days - absolutely brilliant in every way - thanks for your contribution to one PF's best recordings.
