It's so true. I acknowledge what you said but often tend to forget it. I've been paralysed to even start lots of my ideas cause they are so pure and pretty in my mind and I'm so freaking scared of that hopeless feeling after failing to shape it into reality the way I imagined them but by doing that I'm preventing myself from growth - learning from those little mistakes and moving on with other stuff. I'm making things worse for myself by postponing everything instead of just doing the thing. When the idea just sits there for too long I began to put more pressure on myself to make it perfect which makes me procrastinate even more :,,,>

If you do it for the right reasons, for yourself, doing your best will make you happy ❤ If you do it to impress others, o to please others, because you don’t feel good enough, is exhausting. Not comparing yourself to others and just push yourself if you feel like, in the flow, just for fun, is the best.🌸✨

During my 40+ years of my adult life, I learned that life is full of many different phases. And each phase has its expected "speed" as well. For example: During college years, I lived down town, took subways, ran wide open. During my first years of work, its was "go-go-go" speed. This is normal speed being age 25 and working towards a better future life. Today, I'm retired, live in a country bush and am defending the same trees I tried to "pave over" when I worked (many years ago). Long mumblings short... We all go through different phases, different environments and different speeds in life. This is normal life....

Letting go of perfection is what will definitely bring happiness in one's life! I have so many hobbies but I wouldn't say I am very good at them. But it doesn't matter. The joy of creating will forever be more fulfilling than being "perfect". I stopped impulse buying years ago. Asking yourself, if you REALLY REALLY need something is so important. Not only with clothes, but also with art supplies. "Do I really need that better aquarell colour pallette, or is the one from middle school just fine?" That has helped me a lot. I only buy things when I surely know that they are functional, will be used for many years and will last a long time. Anxiety, hypersensitivity and self consciousness is really eating me up, but taking small steps towards the right direction is very healing for me. Just picking up a book or doodle in my notebook is enough to just feel a little bit better in the moment! And that is exactly what it's about, filling your everyday life with small magical moments. Just like you described it, finding moments of peace and presence in the midst of your everyday life. Thank you for another amazing video ♥

There is a difference between what you actually need to be happy and your susceptibility to a sense of happiness - even for "ordinary" things. The less the latter is developed, the more you're likely to always want more. And then there's hedonistic adaptation: the "dull with excess" problem. I wouldnt diss setting goals and aspring to achieve but not to an extent of becoming neurotic.

I grew up in a big city, Brooklyn, NY but I’ve had life experiences in many places, including living surrounded by lakes and countryside. There is a vibrancy and energy in larger cities that still excites me. We now choose to live our lives close to our grandchildren, in two very different localities. Big cities offer experiences that the quiet countryside just doesn’t. I love to see art, culture, food, and shows. Walking in a large city is invigorating and energizing amongst the millions of people. This year I spent time in Bangkok and KL, last year it was India, between discovering the food and culture, I can appreciate more people on this amazing planet.

The algorithm put your video in front of me so I’ll add a comment. One Danish philosopher, Soren Kierkegaard said that true contentment is not found in material wealth but in a state of inner satisfaction and peace. He suggests that even the smallest amount of contentment in a person who has little is worth more than all the riches amassed through greed. One of the apostles, Paul, said “godliness with contentment is great gain”. Both of these individuals seem to back up what you are saying, namely that mindful living doing the things important to each one of us adds more value to life than chasing after great riches! Thank you for your message.

The biggest thing that i hate about life is how competitive everyone is and is encouraged to be since birth. Everything revolves around standing out as an individual and developing talents that you can then sell in the "market place". What if you derive the most joy out of cooperating with people you enjoy being around, instead of wasting your entire life in a job that you hate? I don't really want success, i just want to be able to do whatever i want without worrying about money. The constant worry cripples me and makes it so i don't want to do anything when i do have free time. The world just seems like an utterly cold inhuman place. It wasn't made for a person like me, but for somebody else. Somebody i fundamentally can't relate to.
@JacquelineWester

I can relate to what you're saying and when people ask me what I want to do I always say "whatever I want". I feel like a stubborn 3-year-old, but it's how I feel 😂 It's not easy but I think we will be better off trying to shift our mindset to focusing more on what we have instead of what we don't have, and I feel like when I put my energy towards implementing how I want my life to be I feel better and even if it doesn't change the world, it changes things in my proximity at least.

If we think people will not applause what we did better ask yourself how many people dayly, just for own plaesure applause even the gratest in the world creators and artists? Yes they woud go to Louvre, they would attend Oscar Awards, thwey would go to famous exhibition but why? How many have no matter how cheap copy of Mana Lisa at home on wall, how many listen to greatest musicians deep music during the mess of a day instead of produced for killing silence crap? We may see in YT how promoted videos get milions of visits and not promoted made by the same artist or just the same creations are rarely visited. Applause became thing to buy - easy and available like bad shoes . . We are not obliged to get general applause - if we make good for us , pretty or just usefull things it makes our life happy. we will enjoy our own applause - happiest thing in life.

Love these calm types of videos 💛 PS: Since you seem pretty skilled on the KZfaq platform, do you know anyone that might be interested in a hooking/inspiring thumbnail? I look at the audience that is being targeted, while suiting the tastes and personality of the creator by just asking them a couple of questions. Essentially, I study the audience, brand, personality, video content, titles... and use my current (or learn new ones) to create this perfect thumbnail.

"A way to practice doing" is a very great way to frame our creative actions as useful even if they aren't guided or focused. If you've never seen the Ben Stiller film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty", I highly suggest it. There are a lot of themes related to "discovery by doing" rather than dreaming. Also, another book you should check out is "Every Tool's a Hammer" by Adam Savage. That one has a lot of great tips and encouragement about giving oneself permission to create.
