I knew of the song in 1983 in large part due to the unrated version of the music video that so many people talked about which I honestly didn't see until a few years later. MTV used to show an edited version. I really didn't hear the song until 1984 when I bought their first album which was repackaged for the US as initially, their first album wasn't released here. The bass and drums are second to none on this song. The song is such a vibe, and so catchy! Who knew the sound of pictures being taken would sound so rhythmic! Loved your reaction and I'm so glad liked it!! BTW...the repackage from 1983 has the hit single, "Is There Something I Should Know?" which I highly recommend and think you will enjoy as well! God bless you!

Pretty sure it was #1 r&b and I love it for the vocals alone. The first time I heard of it was a slow, country pop cover by Kenny Roger's f/ Gladys Knight on background vocals.

"Share Your Love with Me" isn't on my Aretha Franklin playlist, but if I was listening to that album on a cd and it came on I wouldn't hit the skip button. The song carries a relaxing sound, Sunday morning like you said. Check out "(Sweet Sweet Baby) Since You've Been Gone".

Yes, that self-titled Video Album was amazing! It was like watching a movie! They had music videos on there for songs that were not even singles which was unheard of back then and still probably the case! God bless your Mom for buying it because VHS tapes were wicked expensive at that time!

Looks like everyone already chimed in on the band name and the nail shop lady, who, by the way, was just recently positively identified by the photo that was used of her for the Rio cover! The album cover is iconic. The album is iconic. What I will tell you tho is that you have about 40 years' worth of music and many different iterations of Duran Duran to discover. I would pick some music off of their debut again, or Rio to get a real flavor for them in their OG, ruled the world state. Maybe Careless Memories, live from their concert film As The Lights Go Down, or New Religion or The Chauffeur from the same show. You can choose remastered audio versions from the last two if you don't do videos.

This song is earlier than the 80's. She was doing dance hits in the 80's. This is from 1970. The photo on the album is likely from the 70's as well.

80s was the best decade imo, so much musical variety and experimentation. Simpler times especially as a kid. No internet and mobile phones. If you wanted to talk to someone you met them in person or called on the phone while you're whole family listened in hahaha. Everyone out playing in the streets after school every night (unlike today), Saturday morning cartoons, pinball parlours, records and audio tapes, boomboxes, roller skating, break-dancing, exploring the neighbourhood with your mates all on bikes, lining up down the street for your iconic cinema movies like Back to The Future, Star Wars - Empire Strikes back etc. So many great memories! :)

@EmpressReacts I believe they even banned the cleaned up version on MTV. There's also a "night version" that is definitely NOT rated G! In fact, heads up that although you absolutely should react to The Chauffeur, off of the Rio album, the official video could possibly cause some issues for you with YT. Better to just do the live version. I like the one from As The Lights Go Down because it is theatrical, but at least there's no nudity. 🤷‍♀️

***ARETHA FRANKLIN "QUEEN OF SOUL" TRIVIA TIME!!*** ...let's share the trivia.......(2:28)..... - ...Aretha is obviously known as "The Queen Of Soul", but she had to build up to it, once....this was a 'single only' tune while Aretha was on her "Soul '69" Album....It, became a HUGE Soul hit, hit #1 R&B (for 5 weeks, Sept. 1969), going #13 Pop, and getting 'Ree back on track...... - ...Aretha was SO omnipresent from 1967-1969, it looked like she was going thru the motions...but, this tune REVVED her up for the 70's, because it was one CLASSIC Album after another! ...this was her first #1 since "Think" (July 1968), and was added to her 1970 "This Girl's In Love With You" Album.......... - ...then, the FLOODGATES; She won a Grammy (for this tune), then released "Live At The Fillmore West", "Spirit In The Dark", "Greatest Hits (1970)", "Amazing Grace" & Young Gifted & Black".....her INSANELY Classic 70's Albums, all in a 3 Year period! ...She THEN, became "The Queen"......

This song was the second single of thier second album ''Rio'', and was thier breakthrought worldwide. THe record company think to this song was not enough radios friendly to be a single in US (since it's was a non-US single) so the song was not released in US in single. The others singles of this album was released in US ''Hungry Like a Wolf'' and the title track, the first did very well and the next was also a hit. It's was only a single has a live version and was a top 20 hit in 1985.

"Girls on Film" was the last single from Duran Duran's debut album and the song got more radio play after the success of their second album, Rio, which was their breakthrough album in the US. The video for "Girls on Film" was considered too risque for MTV, if I recall correctly. "Save a Prayer" and "Rio" from their Rio album are good summertime chilling by the pool or at the beach songs. As for the "nail shop lady", yeah, I see that connection, but that might have followed later.

This song was labeled thier comeback single after a difficult time. This song was thier return of the success after two unsuccessful albums released before. This song was a rushed single released because the Florida radios started to playing this song and became huge, because the group originally wanted to released a another single for the first single of this album, but because of the positive reception in US in radios, Parlophone decided to released has the first single of this album. This was thier first top 10 single of the group in five years and was a huge single. This song was reaching n.3 in US in 1993 and this album was labeled thier comeback album, thier best selling album since album ''Notorious''.

This song was out about 2 years before the movie ever came out. John loved dancing to it so they added it in the movie. This song was very popular in the black community and I believe it went to #4 on the Soul chart. It went to #1 on the Billboard chart and stayed #1 on the Dance Chart for about 7 weeks.

***DURAN DURAN TRIVIA TIME!!*** ....Girls On....NAILS!??? (1:36) ...HA-HAA!! - ...How can I give trivia, when Empress made that HYSTERICAL 'nail shop' reference!? (1:44) ...HA-HAAA!! ....'Duran Duran' was an evil character in the 1968 flick "Barbarella", and the 'Lady' became famous BECAUSE of Duran Duran; a famous Artist named *PATRICK NAGEL* did the cover for DD's "Rio" Album, and 'knockoffs' became ubiquitous!! ...It's now DEFINED "The 80's"...and Nail Shops! ...now, back to trivia...... - ...this was the tune that broke Duran Duran in the UK, and got them noticed, in the USA, Summer 1981; they became a newer version of Roxy Music, and created the "New Romantic" genre......The Video was VERY controversial, and was cen-sored by MTV, but the uncen-sored version got Club play, making it One of the FIRST 'Club Videos' ....... - .....It went Top 5 in the UK, but didn't chart here.....But they broke Big FAST, with "Hungry Like The Wolf", the "Rio" Album, and then the American "Durannies" came out in FULL FORCE, 1982-1986! (4:06)

🤯so nail shop lady wasn’t meant for nail shops 😂. If a nail shop has her picture up - I expect no cleaning of the tools and shady customer service 😂. 🤯 Duran Duran reference is wild. I’ve never seen Barbarella but I know that scene with Jane floating and the hair
