Poorer farmers could not afford them so they bought Ford 8N or 9N's.

Paint it. It will only help preserve it longer. Just because it's painted doesn't mean you should baby it. Use it! Enjoy! Just preserve it!

Nice for small flat yards or strong people that don’t mind pushing it. I have a 14PT but it is a parts donor for my three 14SE self propelled mowers.

Great information! I’ve got two 1950 MT both in original and running condition. Currently restoring one for show use. If you ever visit the heartland, stop by the American thresherman association show in Pincknyville Illinois and get some hands on time with one! It’s the third weekend in august every year.

I’ve got 4 110s (only 1 runs, 1 I’m restoring and two for parts), two 70s, a little single blade model 68, and a rare electric 90 with an aluminum deck that’s probably worth more the. The entire thing. They into made about 3000 of them from 1972 to 1974 and they’re rare cause theirs not a many of them left. Un-restored units have sold for more then $7000. Could you imagine what a restored unit would go for.

The JD 730 was only in production from 1959 to 1961, they only made them for 3 years, not 4.

A great video. My dad bought a new propane 720 in 1956 that was our big tractor until 1964. We bought the neighbors 70 diesel. I had the front wheel pedistal breakoff and roll under the tractor while pulling an anhyrous applicator. I cut the engine, jerked the rope on the applicator and ran like heck as the cloud of gas folowed me. Today I own a 1955 JD70 parade ready.

That's cool to be the second owner, ever had to do any major repairs to it?
@FailureatRetirement7 күн бұрын
@@LocustMotorWorks no, just a couple of carburetor clean outs. I’ve never really used it for much so it doesn’t really get any wear on it. The saddest thing was one of the front tires blew out on me shortly after I got it so now I have three original tires and one replacement. It’s the same tire that was used on doodle bugs and is impossible to find. I guess that all happened before the google machine so maybe I need to try again.

I bought a 110 new in 71. Other than regular maintenance and a deck rebuild in the early 90's it's still mowing. I gave it to my grandson and he gave it a pretty paint job and just loves it.

@@LocustMotorWorks l really don't think it will ever die. Really all my kids and now grandkids learned how to drive on the old 110. I myself have a JD ZTURN. We are a Green family for sure. I do love the ZTURN but that 110 is one tuff tractor.

I grew up on a styled A modle and it really brings back so many momories of working the farm as a kid. Cutting hay, bush hoging, breaking ground, disking and pulling a hay wagon. I even used it to break up a fight between our bull and a neighbors bull that had gotten into our field. Well, those were the days.
