Loved this guy in Ernest goes to Jail and that gold tooth he sported for the role. Yes Jim was a very underappreciated talent who could make people laugh without the use of foul language or raunchy humor.

Fellow Kentucky boy. I'm tellin ya he reminded me of my grandpa the voice, his size, and when he had a mustache his look lol... Miss this dude. I was just thinking about my childhood and earnest popped up and I was like what happened to him. I had no idea that he died. Poor guy man. Varney r.i.p

Mr Jim Varney was my grandfather's nephew. I saw him a few times at family functions he was very quiet but if there were kids around the silly came out and he liked to entertain mine and my cousins kids. I do miss him

He seemed like a good guy, but even when I was a kid I never found him to be funny. I'm 42 now & I can confirm that I don't find him funny at all.
