@erikaliebenberg93175 ай бұрын
is it costly? ?
@cemcrete_4 ай бұрын
Good day Erika. The product itself is not costly. Most of the cost will be in the surface preparation required depending on your substrate, and then the labour to apply the product. If you would like more information on pricing for your specific project please get in touch through the Contact Us page on our website :) Thank you and have a wonderful day further.

We'd like to use it for a fireplace mantel - if we'd use solid concrete it would exceed the weight limit on the sub-floor - so applying this product would work better regarding total weight. However, with the underside getting hot when the fireplace is on, wondering if this product will develop cracks?

Hi @swisscotx. Great question and we have actually written a blog on this exact topic. Read it here: www.cemcrete.co.za/fireplaces-tips-tricks-when-using-cemcrete-products.html. Have any more questions let us know :)

If I wanted to paint a mural on the wall, at what stage would I do this?
@cemcrete_7 ай бұрын
Hi @r0nea. Once the final sealer has cured you should be able to paint over it. Just remember that solvent-based paints may affect the sealer, so rather stick to a water-based paint to be safe. We'd love to see your mural when you're done - email us at [email protected].

I'm taking the tile off my floors and wanted to do something with ccemcrete which would you advise? Id love the floors to look like the video
@cemcrete_ Жыл бұрын
Hi Sheilla. Thank you for your comment and question. By removing the tiles you should be left with a height space you need to fill; if between 8 and 20mm, you can use our SuperScreed, followed by Colour Hardener (as shown in this video), or wait for the SuperScreed to fully cure and then apply RenoCrete or CreteCote (interior only) overlays. If you would like more assistance with product information, etc for your project, please email [email protected]. Have a super day further! :)

Do you have any kind of demo on how to make that wall behind the bed that looks like concrete sections you see in construction?
@cemcrete_ Жыл бұрын
Hi Scott. We don't have a demo video as of yet. However this off-shutter look can be easily created a number of ways. You can either cut the underlying plaster first, and then coat over with CemCote Skimmed (as seen here). Or finish the plaster work flat, and then use a thicker render as the final decorative coating, such as our RenoCrete, which is applied as normal, and then cut and shaped while biscuit hard, in the size and shape of your choice :)

Beautiful product. What is the life span on it and how does one maintain it?
@cemcrete_2 жыл бұрын
Hi Effort Ntuli. This product is perfect for residential projects, and if maintained correctly can last 10 years or even longer. The most important aspect is to regularly use a relevant polish or mop and shine (such as our CreteCare Range), which protects the sealer. And if required, strip down the polish and reseal, to extend the floor's lifespan even longer, all depending on the amount of traffic and wear and tear :)

The roller marks are visible what to do
@cemcrete_2 жыл бұрын
Hi Prasad Medidi. Cement-based coatings are applied by hand, and are naturally mottled and show colour variation. Trowel marks are often visible as well. These are all part of the look and feel of this type of product. If you have a specific query on a project you are busy with, you are welcome to send info and photographs to [email protected] and our tech team will assist you from there. Have a super day :)

Can this product be applied over a previously painted surface
@cemcrete_2 жыл бұрын
Good day Phili200 :) Yes, SatinCrete can be applied over a previously painted surface, as long as the paint and below substrate is not flaky or friable, and is in good sound condition. The painted surface may require additional preparation before the application of the SatinCrete. Please send us your project details to [email protected] and we will assist you with the relevant information for your specific project. Have a lovely day! :)

Hi Rory :) Thank you so much!! The fiber cement board would just need to be primed before the CemCote Skimmed application, and then SiliconSeal and final sealers applied over that. @cemcrete_3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jerome :) Yes you can, as long as the tiles are steadfast and not prone to flaking (eg: slasto). The tiles will need to be prepared before our products can be applied, and the final finish will always rely on the integrity of the tiles and structure. If you'd like more information on the process, please email us on [email protected]. Have a super day :)

Most labour intensive process i have seen in building.... costs will sky rocket
@cemcrete_3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew. Thank you for your feedback. Even though the whole process may take a few days to complete, allowing each coat to cure, the application itself is not labour intensive and is relatively quick (depending on the size of the object of course), and the benefits of this system far outweigh the time taken. It is an opportunity to recycle polystyrene and create lightweight, unique pieces. When used in an actual building installation, the process is no more intensive than other traditional building methods such as brickwork, plastering, priming, etc which also require curing times and so on :)
