Thanks for the video. Quick question: Can someone do a Counselling Diploma (which is not recognized in Malaysia) and come to Malaysia and practice as a counselor there either for someone within Malaysia or for some company outside Malaysia. Can he do that? How does this work? Please guide. Thanks a lot

Thank you for the video. Quick question: Does Malaysia has rules and regulations when it comes to therapists and counsellors? If so, what's the name of the body? Or if Malaysia is unregulated in this field? Also, can you please share some top recognized counselling certificates in Malaysia, after doing which, you can start your own counselling practice/business. Thank you in advance

I was a suicidal depressed hateful nasty selfish person because that’s what I practiced I tried to kill myself two months before my 24 b day lost my family my girl my house my car everything because I pushed myself to a point that’s really hard to come back from w no help and no resources and in a toxic relationship. I could’ve quit or given up but after a month of just sitting in my own self pity I decided to change started caring for myself saying positive thing got therapy medication go to meetings control the drinking and changed myself to be a present person and increase my perception of self and guess what this past month, only a few months before my birthday in January, and I can finally for the first time in my life think of myself clearly I’m reasonable don’t beat myself up I take care of myself ask for help when I need it and built patters of positive w work and personal life and I finally feel like I found myself I think this is very true I couldn’t even hold my attention to try and fix myself but something in me just got tired of being what I was and now look at me me and my son are doing great I’ve created safe boundaries w his mom we co parent great and I can have something bad happen to me without feeling like it’s may fault for even being alive or being born I can finally live my life and I one billion percent agree my brains finally almost done developing it’s crazy I read this during my recovery this is FACTS

Hello! Thanks for making this video! There's so little information about the clinical psychology field in Malaysia and I'm so grateful to have found your video! I have some questions regarding pursuing Master's in Clinical Psychology in Malaysia. I notice that there are clinical practicums during Master's and I'm wondering if you know how these clinical practicums are conducted. Is it during working hours? Can student's still work full time and maintain the 9 am - 6 pm, Mon-Fri full-time job while doing a Master's in Clinical Psychology full time? This may sound silly but if student must quit their day job, will they get paid during the clinical practicum?

The implications… you just told a bunch of 20-25 year olds it’s actually okay to act immature, irresponsible, childish…bc you’re not even developed yet silly !! You can’t be help accountable as an adult…. Although you are a 24 year old grown man (wife, kids, full time job)… you’re still a “teenager” until next year.

Hi, thanks for sharing this informative video!! I am really interested in psychology since a few years ago, however, I study business stream in secondary schooling, so may I ask if it is possible to learn psychology even if I am not a science-based student? If yes will the chance of getting into that course be lower than the other students from science stream? Thank you. (cuz I think I will be taking three a-levels including maths, economics, and accounting, the other two subjects are not related to psych as well ;-;)

I used to believe that by the age of 25, I would have reached maturity. I don't feel or act any differently now that I'm almost 27 in October. I'm not sure why I felt mature for my age when I was 20-24, but a lot of 25-29 year olds still act like children. What I'm trying to say is that you decide when you want to start acting like an adult.
@ahyangjy80652 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for your comment. Totally agree! Everyone matures at a different time and the age of 25 is just a suggestion by scientists.

@ahyangjy80652 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, if you're interested in becoming a psychiatrist then you will need to complete your medical degree first before specialising in psychiatry. However, I'm not exactly sure of the system for specialising in medical school, perhaps you may want to check it out with your preferred medical school. All the best! ^^

Hii , I'm currently studying in Diploma Office Management (business faculty).. but my passion is more to psychology and counseling actually (since high sch) 🥲. after SPM I just got this offered to pursue in Diploma OM in government uni so I just accept it..then i have a big believe that I still will change my course time degree .. even both course are not related 🥲 what do u think , do I have a chance to change my course in psychology field on degree ?
@ahyangjy80652 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharifah! Thanks for your comment. I've heard cases where people got into their chosen degree with a foundation cert or diploma of another course. Hence, there might be chances where you could pursue a degree in Psychology with your current diploma. However, it would be better if you can call up the universities that you're interested in and enquire them about their entry requirements. Once you have gotten your answer, then you can plan your studies from there on. All the best!

@ahyangjy80652 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for your comment. If you are interested in becoming a psychiatrist then a medical degree is required. Hence, you'll need to attend medical school in the first place then proceed to specialise in psychiatry. Hope this answers your question. =D

@ahyangjy80652 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for loving my video. The salary of clinical psychologist varies according to the setting that you are working in. However, according to a recent survey published by MSCP, the fees collected by psychologist may range from RM200 - RM450 according to the type of services you provide. You may check out the Facebook page of Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology MSCP to learn more about it.

Hi there! Thanks for your comment! I personally don’t think it’s possible, as the field of counselling is culturally sensitive, hence, you may need to get certified separately to provide counselling services in different part of the world.

Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind words. I think it would be better if you could consult "Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia" if you're intending to practise as a Counsellor, or "Malaysia Society of Clinical Psychologist (MSCP)" if you're interested to practise as a Clinical Psychologist. These two bodies will be able to provide you with the most accurate information in regards to your question. =D

Hey there! I hope the previous comment answered part of your ques. I think there are more selection for students who are interested in studying psychology nowadays. Generally, HELP and Sunway would come into my mind whenever this question is being asked. But, feel free to explore other unis as well, such as Nottingham or even Heroitt Watt. If not mistaken, they do provide psych degree in Malaysia campus.
