There’s no doubt that he managed 10+ world class players (Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie, Vidic, Ferdinand etc etc) But it’s just his interpretation of what world class means. His interpretation of world class is just different to most people. And I think given his expertise he’s qualified to define the term his own way

If he and Keane hadn't fallen out so badly, I think Ferguson would have included Keane in that list. There was a long period where, if Keane didn't play, United very often didn't win. He was the best player at that club for many years.
