Great video. How do you make different targets remain onscreen? Trying with REW V5.40 Beta 43.. I am not able to show various targets curves in All SPL tab.

This might be a dumb idea but could you do some kind of vinyl wrap as a solution for the silver bezel? Is that a viable option for that issue?

Brand new LG G4 77" broken right out of the box. Waiting for repair. LG experience has been a nightmare. Very dissapointed.
@sudd3660Күн бұрын
my recommendation is not using a mic, or looking at graphs and that means no targets. sit down in listening position, do real time eq by ear so it sound evenly loud to you, you can call that flat if you will. pick a loudness that you most often use and that is it. require no tools and experience. and takes into account room, speakers, hearing, audio taste, loudness curve/house curve.

Hi I have a question about HDR... the TV sets the gamma to 2.2, isn't 2.4 better?
@hdmoviesource5 күн бұрын
No, 2.2 is actually perfect for HDR. BT.1886 is perfect for SDR.

65” LG C3 and UB820 owner here. This is quite literally one of the best videos I’ve ever watched. Didn’t even feel like 30 minutes because of how informative and straight to the point you were. Thank you very much. I’m left with only one question however, and apologies if I missed it in the video, but when you use the ‘day mode’ for HDR10 (Cinema Home), do you still run +2 or +3 on the Dynamic Range Adjustment on the player, or would you suggest this to be put to 0/default if I was running in day mode?
@hdmoviesource6 күн бұрын
Probably not when running a day mode. The day mode has higher black level detail anyway, very similar to this. You could run dark mode, and then make changes on the player. Either way to be honest. Whichever works best to get your black levels right. But, doing it on the player retains absolute black so I like doing it on the player.

@hdmoviesource I am trying to figure out when i put it on 4:4:4 it grays out some advanced picture settings on my TV such as reduce judder and motion blur and film mode but when i put it on 4:2:0 it makes the advanced settings not grayed out
@hdmoviesource7 күн бұрын
It's because 4:4:4 is typically a PC mode for perfect text. You could try 4:2:2, and it should keep film mode. I use auto 10-bit also.

@@hdmoviesource also how would I run 2 sep hdmi by one going to my tv and one going to a Vizio elevate 512 soundbar
@hdmoviesource6 күн бұрын
@@allencress5224 If they both have HDMI inputs, you can run one from the video out to the TV and one from the audio out to the soundbar. I prefer doing that.
@hdmoviesource6 күн бұрын
@@allencress5224 Well, it's not controlling the TV, I think it's a restriction by the TV, and limitation. When you have that level of data, the TV has to turn all processing off. Most TV's assume that's for PCs and gaming. 4:2:2 and auto 10-bit will provide the best picture quality for your display by the sounds of it.

@hdmoviesource I measured the distance to the center speaker using a laser meter, then using signals generated from REW, I determined the distances to L and R. There were still detected distance difference on the order of several millimeters. From what I saw, the distance resolution in Audyssey distance is an inch. Thanks to the fact that these two speakers are floor-standing, I additionally changed their actual distance so that the distance analysis from REW showed me exactly 0. Then I remeasured using the Atmos test signals you use, and unfortunately it turned out that L and R are not perfectly matched again. So I have a question for you, in terms of matching speaker distances, which measurement method is more reliable, swipes from REW, or swipes from Atmos mp4 files? P.S. And two more things since I’m writing to you, I found a very cheap and tiny laser with a pipe mount that fits perfectly on the narrower part of the UMIK-1 microphone. I think thanks to this, we will be able to aim the microphone at the speaker much better than you showed. I haven’t tested yet whether attaching the laser affects the measurements. I paid less than 6 dollars. The second thing is that when you set the distance to the speaker using MultEQ-X, loading all the settings into the amplifier takes a lot of time. I think the process could be sped up by setting the next distances to test in the web interface of the amplifier and only after determining the final distance, setting it in MultEQ-X so that it is remembered in your calibration files.

Im suprised you werent bothered by the sanus stand reflections. In the video, i think the reflections from the sanus mount metal surface is bigger of a "immersion ruiner" experience for me atleast. Definitely fixable, take a roll of triple black velvet over it to cover it. I think you should also velvet your side walls, until the distances you sit at, if possible. So velvet side walls infront of you, back of you and side walls behind your head doesnt matter. Same to ceiling. Also, you could do the electrical tape as people mentioned, but yeah that silver bezel sucks... The velvet behind the TV, do you feel its better in a curtain style like that, or if it was flat. You probably have windows back there, so you cant choose, it has to be curtain style, but if it was a wall, would you be better off straight velvet with the TV wall mounted on the wall to avoid all possible reflections and feel like looking into the void?
@hdmoviesource14 күн бұрын
Yeah, I didn't like the stand either. I think velvet would work well yes. I'll look into that. I have windows behind that yes, so the curtain work great. I specifically told the installer that I can't have nay light coming through, and it's very good.
