Does look a lovely kit. It's strange about the missing mess on the cones, its almost like they just thought the aftermarket guys will do it much better, so why bother, which is a bit disappointing. Just a comment on the sound quality of your videos. When you are in the chair, the sound quality isn't great - the louder (?) parts of your speech are rather hash/start to break up, and it makes it a bit unpleasant to listen to. When you are at the bench, we dont get this and it much nicer to listen to. Hopefully you can make some tweeks to improve this.

I’ve just finished mine and absolutely loved it. The only real issue for me were the intake cones and lack of mesh representation. What makes it a real head scratcher is that on the pylon itself they’ve used both moulded and decal details to represent mesh, either would have been good for the intakes. I cut some masking tape templates to make some brass mesh to glue on but it was an unnecessary faff. Also agree that the IP decals are rancid 😂. That said there’s a lot of thought gone into this one with the modeller in mind and general fit is excellent - good job. One note on the original list, I believe the fuel points are moulded recessed so the decals should bed down into them.

I’m hoping the sight of the Spanish AV8B at RIAT will help elevate mine back into production. *In other news , the GWH A10C has landed in model shops in the U.K. at long last, let’s see if us Hog fans get a truly decent A10 model after all these years, apparently they have sorted the engine fans . If it’s any good I’ll pray for an earlier A10A release from GWH to use up the stash of European 1 Hog decals I have saved for a truly deserving kit !😂 Good luck wrangling the SHAR , loving the channel 👍🏻

I used to work on the Harrier GR3 in the RAF and I can say the main undercarriage doors were always closed when the engine was not running, but you're right, they did have a slight droop so didn't look completely shut. The airbrake door was half open and the nose undercarriage doors were closed with hydraulic pressure after the engine shutdown. I'm sure you know this already , so just for reference. Keep up the great work!😀

I think in this case is a good idea to put weight even in the engine nacelles. All the weight in front of the rear undercarriage help to put the front down. Resin engines probabily are heavier than the plasic ones.

Placing small steel fishing weights in the nacelles and in the spaces at the forward space within each wing leading edges can be used all along the inside from mid wing inboard as well.

Just a quick comment. I read somewhere that the reason the rear turret guns where moulded with the clear parts was to ensure the pitch between the guns was correct after assembly. Using traditional methods of thick transparency and moulded plastic would result in gun barrels too close together.

Hi Jamie! Some thoughts during I watched the video: 1 - The second guys you bought conversion set from were right choosing Tamiya kit over Eduard cause Tamiya has the most shape and size accurate kit of Bf. 109G-6 from the modern new tooled ones. 2 - Buchons (reads as Bukhon in Spanish) had 2 types of engines: the early ones (K. 1L) had Hispano Swise 14RDY and the late ones had Merlin-XX. 3 - That light green-gray color for overall painting is nothing else like RLM-02, just like on S-199. 4 - Rockets from the first set seem right in size, those were not HVAR as on US planes but Hispano Swise made in Switzerland, you an find more info and photos of them from Swiss Mustangs website
@thescalemodellingcafe7 күн бұрын
1. This is not the G-6, but I prefer the Eduard kit owing the the detail and rivets. 2. Hispano Suiza 3. The S-199 is a light green but in the desert is faded rapidly to a brown tone. 4. Having measured them they are slightly too small but on their own mounted to the model they would look ok.
