I’ve been at help desk for almost 3 years with my ccna, security+, and A+. Studying for solutions architect now hoping I’ll like it and I can actually move up from help desk because I don’t even get call backs when I apply to anything more than a help desk

This is a great video I subscribed to your channel, but didn’t really take a lot of time to watch a lot of videos yet and I was doubling back because I’m interested in cloud. your videos are full of substance and not a bunch of crap thank you so much very well put together. That is the best definition of a cloud architect that I’ve ever heard. ❤😊

@allisonb90724 күн бұрын
This is so true !! instead of chasing Certs you have to decide exactly what you want to do and position yourself by getting the skills you need to be successful certifications are just part of that.

This is a very thought-provoking question. While studying for my A+, the very first things that really drew my attention is virtualization and cloud computing. I am extremely interested in it, even after obtaining my A+. I decided to change my major in college to cloud computing and specialize in the AWS track. I also want to get a free tier account and do everything I can with that free tier. getting my CompTIA trifecta and building on those skills will also give me a very strong foundation of things that I need to learn before eventually going into a cloud career.

Same here. I've bounced around different industries - starting in a Call Center as Tech Support, then moving to IT Service Desk, followed by field work as a Desktop Engineer, and eventually managing a team as Senior IT Support Officer. However, I still felt like it was a dead end. After months of trying to figure out my path forward, I finally started my new job last month as an Azure Cloud Engineer for a big IT Consulting firm. Despite my limited knowledge of Azure and only having an ITIL certification, the employer was kind enough to upskill me and provide certifications necessary for success in this role. I must have done something right to impress them, going from a frustrated helpdesk guy to now handling large clients with hopes of securing more opportunities in the future.

Good tip. I was about to do a phone screening interview for a remote company last week. A thunderstorm ⛈️ knocked out the power *at the precise time* of the interview. They allowed me to reschedule. It was a blessing in disguise because I was mismatched to the company with a dress shirt and tie👨💼. The company attire? Business casual.
