1:30 warnings are nice but either lying about stopping or not even realizing what you’re doing imo should disqualify from a warning. at least put it as a written so it’s on record. idk how she didn’t realize she didn’t stop at all and in front of a car going down the road while there’s ice on the road

We were at Lifest in Oshkosh and it really came down. Flash flooding. Ended up missing For King and Country 😢. Walked through water that was over my shoes down in places to get to our car.

Interesting podcast, would have liked to have reviewed actual case law (graham v connor) a bit more on use of force and how the department has implemented or trained to the reasonableness rule. Also would be very fascinating to explore how WPD conducts use of force review boards. Would suggest interviewing one SME at a time as the conversation flows better and perspective is consistent.

It is true that sometimes police officers make poor decisions, but It is easy for the "armchair quarterbacks" to criticize a use of force when they aren't having a make a split second decision that could make the difference between life and death. Thank you for risking your lives to keep our community safe.

Very fascinating, thanks for sharing Jon! Would love a part 2 that talks about the requirement and training that takes place in evidence collection. Would be fun to see the compare and contrast and also best practice in terms of the patrol officer capabilities in training them for evidence collection. Description methodology and background.

We are located in Wausau. If you made a dart board out of Wisconsin, we are the bullseye. We have a sworn staff of 81 officers.

A supervisor who had been there 20 years already told me exactly this, from 10-8 to 10-7 that shift, that uniform is your sheild from everything. Let the uniform get dirty, let the uniform wear it all for u and when u are done for that day, u are just u again. Think superman 🦸♂️, vs Clark Kent. Thats the only way u work this job is to leave it with your uniform. Your cape.

Fatals stick with u. At 6 years old my dad and I stopped as county first responders, first on scene, and my dad checked on the driver of the rollover. He pointed to me to check the passenger. I saw his wife alive, head pinned out the window & a look of shock on her face as the weight of the car chopped her head off. It rolled into the ditch like a 🏀. I'll never forget it. So I know exactly how you feel.

Wow this was actually fascinating to listen to. Who would've thought some place I never heard of has this story/culture/mindset. I found this podcast randomly with the SRO interview of DET Bertram and really enjoyed it. No fancy stuff, just getting to know some great cops so far.
