Hey, For this one I was about 6km away and I was pretty low on battery when I landed (5.45v average cell voltage)

I'm afraid that could be just temporary before they adjust their production to the new market reality, but I hope by then you would have found the good deal. 🙂

The area was a bit of a valley so I was standing on higher ground - somewhat, flying towards lower ground.

No rfid in O3’s… so they can’t track you!

I assumed buying new DJI products is what you should be able to do if you like their products? The O3 system is already certified so if you have one now it should be good.

I think that was a crossfire problem. Might have been due to both being mounted horizontally and not having one vertically. Just a thought. Try enabling RSSI DBM as its a much better indicator of signal strength than LQ. Also remember that telemetry from your RX is might be set to a certain value. Like with ExpressLRS you can set your packet rate and telemetry rate as well as your output power. All info not shared in your OSD.

@@InfinityDrones Vertical Vs Horizontal mounting maybe something to look into, I looked at one of my old flights with such a config I only had about 2 seconds at 10 km. My hunch was maybe on 20Mhz vs 50Mzh config in the VTX.

Hi Hamid, The altitude was correct most of the time except when I was about to turn back, (15km mark) at that point I didn't gain any altitude at all but the telemetry showed otherwise.

Thanks man. As far as the 50Mhz vs 20Mhz debate, I prefer the 20Mhz because it's easier for me to know when the connection is about to drop off - it drops off between 1 mbps and 0 mbps. Whereas on the on the 50Mhz setting it has done so between 15 mbps and 5 mbps (I haven't see a 1 or a 0 mbps so far) in the same area. As far as range in concerned, I'm not sure which one could be considered better - I couldn't even reach the max range of this current setting in this test. 🙂

On the DJI ban: since our community is borderless, if one subsection of the community is affected, then the entire community is also affected: (there will be fewer product reviews, fewer tests and less revenue for DJI to make more awesome products) it limits our knowledge base. Also at the moment: whenever US legislates the rest of the western world follows; (that was true for 5G and Huawei) unfortunately it's only just a matter of time before the decoupling hits us too given the current trajectory.

@@Phoenix.- good information, I’ll have to do some tests with 25mbps mode. * Regarding USA ban, I agree with your thoughts below, definitely an impact on the community and the rest of the world may follow. Whether you like DJI or not, most agree they make the best drone products and have set the industry standard.

Thank you. I did this test because we are planning to do a take of a peak that's nearly 13kms away, so I wasn't sure whether the 12.5km limit is also a thing for the DJI O3 on stock settings, fortunately that's now a thing of the past.

I have not tested the difference to the others but I'm just used to 25

Hi Filipe The batteries I used for this test were custom made but if you already use iflight batteries: then the two below should be good. 1. Fullsend 6S 8000mAh Li-Ion Battery 35A (35c) 2. Fullsend E 6S 8000mAh LiPo Battery (60c)

Haha, I literally posted a 7km range test yesterday which I was pretty happy about! However I was just testing different antennas (still had around 40mbps!), it wasn’t a max range test.

Hi Seb I think the hard limit was reset at some point through an update, I cannot tell you which one exactly. On the RTH part, If I had invoked RTH the quad would have flown directly over the village you see to the right as I land, given the low battery voltage, who knows what may happen.

the 13km limit was the original FPV system. The 03 has a tested range to 23km.

No, that was not the setting. The setting was current altitude with initial alt. set to 20 metres because of the many helicopters in the area. You did not see Fail Safe because the screen froze first.

Thanks Filip. To improve on battery weight, I would say you upgrade to 8000mAH first, then move on to 10000mAh before you start re-tuning. Anything beyond 10 000mAH requires special tuning and special props.
