As a mom of 16yo and 7yo girls, I so agree about it being a parent issue. My girls would NEVER behave like that and my 16yo I'm just now letting her explore more "higher quality" products but ones that are suitable for her skin type. As far as wasting products, my kids know that is BLASPHEMOUS! Edit to add that my 16yo also works a part time job for her more higher quality products but I don't mean drunk elephant expensive either. She won't spend that much but she is also getting old enough to start a routine of products that are like a step above a basic cleanser and moisturizer.

I gotta say, I do get amusement from Urban Decay makeup names. I've been struggling with my makeup at the Renaissance festival I go to every weekend in the summer because it's hot in NY and I sweat a lot. The only eye shadow that hasn't melted to the point of seeing my eye primer/skin was my Urban Decay. ColourPop and Blend Bunny did a big melt away. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I also like the better than sex mascara, but I'm a big girl and go get it for myself and don't torture employees 🤣

The more entendre (or just in your face proactive) names are typically just fun and funny- something to giggle about as a teenager because someone said something about sex heaven forbid. But the really dark names are not even tone deaf, they are beyond that. The minute I saw Kat Von D and Jeffree Star in the thumbnail I just thought oh no. Jeffree also had a liquid lip in like a holiday collection that was like Whipped or something like that that was like a metallic mauve/pink (I think). I remember people flipping out about it. But I think Kat takes the cake on the cruel names- one that wasn’t mentioned that I remember was a pastel/white based bright pink lipstick name that meant “selection” but spelled like skeleton and is a German word that was used by the Nazis during the holocaust when they were selecting which of the Jewish people would go to the concentration camps to work or to die- and she would always claim that people calling her a neo-nazi/nazi sympathizer was baseless. That was also a launch and pull to shove in the darkest recesses of Sephora never to be seen again. To be so openly cruel in naming lipsticks- lipsticks of all things!- is just baffling.
