Much like Fontana Lake. The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad travels over Lake Fontana...with the ruins of 4 towns submerged below the lake. The government (TVA) forced the residents out and paid them $37/acre for their land. Same purpose - electricity and Manhattan Project (atomic bomb).

3:18 Bro the power band is around 8.5K to 10K RPM if you want the pull of it. There is a dead space around 7K-8K rpms before it starts pulling again. Gotta rev it out, or get an ecu flash so you have more linear power

Just traded in my 2021 for a gsxr1000. The RS has it all it’s just not enough. If it had 20 - 30 more hp it’d be way more fun, if the QS was just a little smoother, if getting parts from Aprilia was not waiting 6+ months, if it didn’t eat oil as much….. it’s comfortable, quick, looks good, it’s just not put together right. The engine is mounted on the frame so it vibrates a ton and causes so many problems. I loved mine but I just started to not trust it and find it meh.

i dont own the bike im no mechanic ive been watching some stuff about the bike for about two days; but if i had to take a guess for the acceleration bugging thingny id put my guess on a sort of VVT, since it's half of a v4 from a rsv4 and im 99% sure there is a variable valve timing system on it, it's more than likely that there's also one on the rs660 which could be the reason of why you feel 2 types of acceleration in low rpm vs higher rpms :) If someone with more knowledge can confirm or deny my guess id be pretty appreciated

Your mic is very clearer now. even with the wind noise still being heard. Which any bike rider should be used to hearing. Appreciate the effort you put in to these vids. Even though I don’t agree with everything in this vid.
@ExtremaRider4 ай бұрын
You’re right about the mirrors. But I don’t agree with much else. The lag in acceleration is due to you being in too high of a gear for the speeds. Try the same thing in first gear and the bike will respond. It’s a sports bike after all…

3:28 - this is a stupid argument. full throtle on 2nd gear, 23mph, about 3.5k RPM - then complains it bogs down. a "tell us you don't know how to use your motorcycle, without telling us" moment lmao

You can use the heel guard from the Tuono 660 it fits perfectly, my RS660 had this installed by the dealer on delivery ... works perfectly. 😊

When people talk about the RS' power and don't change AEM/Ride modes to racing makes me chuckle. Every time.
@davidkim06783 ай бұрын
i was gonna say this too but i think the race mode only affects throttle response whereas his issue was the power bogging down which is most likely a weight issue.

Does your bike burn oil..? I have the 2021 model and it burns through about 500cc oil every 1000km.. Makes going on long road trips annoying having to carry extra oil !!! Other than that I love riding this bike. I came from mainly riding 2-strokes.

Yeah, im a fat ass 260lbs 6'2. The bike is perfectly slow 😂. Im very irresponsible so the lack of power for me is perfect. Its exactly what i wanted. Slam brakes is common when breaking in new brakes. Didnt you know that?

i'm torn between this and a triumph street triple RS. which do you think is overall better bike? Seems like the street triple has better component parts like ohlins. but the aprilia looks way more usable and fun to ride.
@keltecdan8 ай бұрын
Triumph would be slightly more reliable. I’ve heard quite a few horror stories about this bike. I’m considering the Tuono 660 but the issues put me off since I ride a lot and put tons of miles on my bike.

As I watched the last video about this road I was wondering how this road was built, why so many curves and the history of it. Suprised there isn't many views but maybe Y.T. will give it more exposure. Excellent video, Thanks. From the farm near Battle Creek, Mi. '99 Fatboy. '02 Road King.

wow thats the worst wear I've seen on the swing arm. viewers obviously already pointed out the gaurd for is like $15 from AF1 - and aprilia def. designed this thing with lean 150lb Italian boi racers in mind and not us american fast food fanatics lol ;-)

I own the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory (owned the RS 660 before) and the front of the bike comes up easily in first gear, just because of the power 😍. Maybe this is because of the different front sprocket on the Tuono 660 Factory. I feel that the bike has more than enough power for the street - if you want to keep your driver license 😉. The handling and balance of the bike is sublime and can be compared to the more expensive Street Triple RS (I just rode the newest version of it). The only bike that could tempt me is the Duke 890R, but this one is around 3.000,-€ more here in Germany, which is a lot of money and you have to pay even more, if you want comparable tech and settings on the KTM.
@thatdeadguy.6669 ай бұрын
I pretty much have the same complaints about the bike. Overall it’s amazing. It’s just a couple little annoying extras is all. But you need to stop saying this is a beginner bike. This is an intermediate bike. Plain flat and simple. It has more power than a beginner bike. If your saying your a seasoned rider and your not having fun on that you clearly don’t have enough miles under your belt. Especially if your comparing it to a 1000. That’s a whole different power and type of bike. That’s like comparing a Honda to a corvette.

The mechanic mashing on your breaks wasnt abusing your bike brother... ahhahahahaha He was checking for dirt in the pads, warping in the disc, making sure the break fluid is all good, seeing how they react to heat, etc. How can he know what the problem is just by looking at them ? haha

I bought the tuono factory (original upgradedd suspension, imu, short transmission quickshifter blipper, all original )as a second bike (I have a superduke R V2) Till now , no troubles, and a absolute blast in very curvy road. (here in Belgium, they are a lot of those road) A lot of power when riding up 6000rpm . And on the hard twisty bumpy road, difficult to beat, even with bigger bikes. That exactly the reason I bought it. In additionnal reason.... very comfy for long road, commuting, city-ride, Rarely I have seen a so versatile bike.. Thanks for your video.

Heel guards affect the clean swing-arm look. So instead, I am using anti-scratch tape (used for car ), but I change it periodically. Re suspension - it is kinda sportbike, the suspension has to be hard (in case of RS660 it is actually soft with as for a sportbike ).

quite a shame that the difference in experience in the US is that much worse, i mean in the EU i'm never more than 60km away from an Aprilia certified service centre, and the rear brake squeaking apparently is normal for the 660
