The one thing I would say, from someone who was raised by a woman who should have never been a parent is this - it's not a given that your child will love you. Love is earned through care, consideration, and nurturing. Not all parents are good parents, and though you three clearly are because you're consciously thinking about your child, how they experience the world, and how you can do better for them, that's unfortunately not the case for all parents. Like my mother, some can be petty, jealous (even of their own child), unable to give love, and not think of what's best for their child. In those cases, love isn't warranted, and though it's of course a technicality, I just wanted to say that not every parent-child relationship is a loving experience, and a child loving their parent unconditionally should never be assumed. Even when parents do their best, but are still incapable of doing good enough, many children move on and choose to end the relationship. At the end of the day, that child is their own person, and should never owe a debt to their parents to return any experience or emotion if they feel they did not receive it adequately during childhood.

Apparently waking up thinking your baby is in the bed is super common! It happened to me so often and then I saw someone on tiktok talking about it and there were so many other moms saying it also happened to them. So crazy how real it felt.

As a nanny of over 18 months to a little girl I totally get it! 32:23 I have gotten so close with my nanny kiddo, and her parents! I love her so much and the day I leave her will break my heart even if we continue being close.
