Connie, I’ve been watching as many of your Pitt pens videos as I can. What is the best blending media for them - water, water based blender like Tombow, alcohol type blender pens, Meltz, zest-it, Gamsol, or the new multi ink blending solution from Staedtler? Thanks!

Hi Connie, well I couldn’t resist I ordered the 24 new set of Staedtler pigment brush pens from Amazon Germany,and the last pen,Dark Brown,was not closed and it’s completely dry. Do you think if I contact Staedtler they would replace it? I don’t think I can deal with Amazon Germany,but these pens are not cheap,and I paid $20 for shipping, I mean you know, you did the same. Or you have any other advice? Thanks

amazing video and you are super funny.🥰 love the long video 👍34:10 this is odd 🤔 even though the Korean book has bigger pages, even accommodating the wide borders to either side. nonetheless, the Japanese image appears to be a wee bit larger. 34:26 so I wonder, is the Japanese image wider and taller than the Korean one???
@colouringchemist

As far as I can see, the images are almost exactly the same size - there is just much less white space on the page with the Japanese version. :) Hope that helps!

@@colouringchemist Hey 😀thank you very much for your response and or time. very kind of you. 🥰that is exactly what I am saying. their are almost the same size,. the images in the Japanese book, which is smaller, are larger than the images in the larger Korean book, that leaves has the extra space for the big white frame. Would it be possible to measure them and find out for sure? 😀Cause in the end, if I where to buy one, personally I would choose the Japanese one cause the images are larger.

Thanks for the informative video. I have always used the Pitt pens but I thought I would try the Staedtler pens. There is no comparison to the Pitt pens. After a few uses the tips were frayed. I am a very light touch when I color. I have never had any of my Pitt pens do that until they were very old and getting dry, I will never purchase any more of the Staedtler pens. The savings is really not that great.

You're correct - I'm in Canada. :) But I did a bit of a work-around to get the Harmonious pencils. :) I live near the border with the States and I have a US postal box where I can get things shipped to and then I drive over to pick them up. I placed my order through the Castle Arts website but had them ship to the US box. Hopefully, the Harmonious pencils will be available on Amazon Canada soon!

Teaching is exhausting and as we get older it takes more out of us. Glad to hear Mr. Colouring Chemist is on the mend. Sorry about your loss. Not sympathy, just understanding being sent here. As far as the page goes, I actually think it looks great on screen. I think the moral of the story is that we're all fallible and allowing others to know that it isn't always sunshine and roses makes for a more realistic picture. Hi Connie! So I wanted to watch this video because I’m looking for blending alternatives to the Tombow colorless blender, and love the idea of a refillable marker with replaceable nibs! My 2 big questions… do you know or could you test: 1) does the blending solution work with Inktense? And 2) does it cause ghosting or bleed through to the other side of the paper?
@colouringchemist
@colouringchemist 8 күн бұрын
I just did a test - the Staedtler blending solution dissolves Inktense better than an alcohol marker colourless blender but just a little less than the Holbein Meltz solution. The Holbein Meltz and the alcohol blender pushed the pigment through to the other side of a piece of thin copier paper but the Staedtler blending solution didn't. The Holbein Meltz pushed the pigment through to the other side of a piece of cardstock but the Staedtler solution and the alcohol blender didn't. So Holbein Meltz dissolves Inktense the best but it ghosts quite a bit on the other side. The Staedtler solution does quite well and doesn't ghost. :) Hope that helps!

Regarding the platform upgrade removing certain features: I am an IT admin, and in my experience this occurs if there is a vulnerability with those features that could pose a security risk. The features may likely return in the future once the developers fix the vulnerability. Doesn’t remove the frustration, but hopefully it can explain some things.
@colouringchemist

I find it so hard to find anyone that uses these! They are far superior in quality, I love them. I currently only have about 90 colours - got them as sets of 6 and a few 12 packs or singles. I primarily use pastels, greys and skin tones and replace them as I go. I too use them for colouring! I can’t ’get into’ Ohuhu when I find these so great. I always look forward to your videos and i appreciate how genuine you are. Im starting to understand what its like recording videos and posting them for all to see and maybe not being in the mood that you want to be in or are portraying in said videos. I like watching people who are raw and real no matter if its going to gain subscribers or not. This is what i intend for my channel and this is one of the many reasons i watch you. We may not know one another but im only a click away if u ever need anyone. You've got so many of us in this community that has your back because your just awesome! I hope this whole issue with the platform you use better and i hope a solution should arise... My kids just started school today and you're totally allowed to be stressed about starting up again. Its valid. Especially after that mishap with your website. You're a trooper, a survivor and an inspiration! Question: Do you set the Neocolor l? The regular ones or the metallic? Is there a film or can you feel it?
@colouringchemist
@colouringchemist 13 күн бұрын
Awww... Thank you for your kind words of support! :) Recording videos is so much harder than the final product makes it seem, isn't it? Everyone who records and posts videos on KZfaq deserves so many kudos!! I don't set or fix the Neocolor I backgrounds. Once you've done the buffing with a tissue, the surface is very smooth and non-sticky. I put a small sheet of tracing paper (or parchment paper, etc.) between the pages of my book if I've done this kind of a background just because the Neocolor I crayons are so pigmented - I want to make sure that no colour from the background rubs off on the facing page. And I've decided that the Neocolor I metallic crayons work best for this technique. The non-metallic ones are just a little bit stickier and don't give that ultra-high gloss look. Hope that helps!

Never an absolute failure!!! My remedies for a background I’m not happy with include: acrylic paint to completely change it (is this not what black acrylic paint was made for???!!!); cover with glitter (ModPdge extreme glitter or the DecoArt galaxy glitter some of my favourites for this); or add more texture with stencil or stamps and ink or acrylic paint… experimenting, making mistakes and learning new things is all part of it, and covering something you aren’t happy with with glitter or black acrylic paint can be extremely therapeutic 😂 thanks for the video, and I’m still keen to get my hands on these metallic neo colours 😍😍😍
