Your garden is looking so amazing! I feel like we have similar issues. I've been using a scuffle garden hoe to remove weeds. It's a back and forth motion to remove weeds. It has really saved my knees and back for weeding. You could also use it to shave down areas. I have a lot of drainage / runoff areas too. Amazon has one similar to mine and it's not too expensive. I'm always worried about poison ivy too!

Your hard work pays off, and hard it was with all the trash you had to remove! I wonder if the house was equally trashed and wether you DIY that also? The garden is coming into its own, it's beautiful and dreamy, you have a good eye for design and combinations 💚

👍 Was just putting down mulch today too...not that today is necessarily when you did it! One maybe worthwhile consideration... I think you are thinking it's too shady for the variegated hydrangea to bloom where the are... If you replace with Encore azaleas I think it might be the same problem. My understanding, and I could be wrong of course, was that encores need/like more sun than other evergreen azaleas. So it may be that it's the same issue...? IDK check me but that's what I remember. Super shade tolerant and deer unfriendly... Maybe Calycanthus Athens (?) Ok I will go and MMOB now. I hope whatever you do works like a charm. 👍👍👍

Also I saw in a video that someone had created on moss area using a mixture that included buttermilk along with other items but I can't remember the list of the items. If this appeals to you, I'm sure you could easily find the recipe.

I love the variegated hydrangeas, one of my favs. As a green stem starts growing from it, trim it off or the plant will star converting to total green. I found this out by experience so I asked the nursery and was told to maintain the variegated branchs to keep it variegated or it would eventually turn back to total green. Just thought I would mention it in case you wanted to keep the variegated look. I do love watching your gardens, they are really shaping up nicely and looking so good!! You have landscape it beautifully.

Looking good! Not easy work! Those ajuga will definitely spread. Mulch always makes things look tidy. I’m not 100% certain but it looked like some of the weeds you were pulling from the grey stones area were poison ivy. Be careful. I got some on my lower left leg about a month ago & it was miserable! Have a great week! 😊♥️

All your hard work & lifting mulch bags, My husband told me if I work in the garden, I won't get osteoporosis. Whitney, I got that TALL BLUE Diamond Lake Hosta today, same as your garden. They have like 8 tall hostas. So I'll probably divide in half. I couldn't believe it was $20 I got 30% off. $14, so I was happy. I also love your veragated Hydrangea. I've never seen that around. Your hosta garden looks so nice. 😊

Looking good. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a yellow Bleeding Heart found on marketplace. Whitney, you can also divide your 2 Lungworts for the other side. I had 2 fuller ones & divided into 6 plants. They will grow fuller the following year. This fall I'm going to divide more, they are really full now. Don't worry about them looking thin, they really get FULL next year. 😅

I'm guessing it was the deer that have destroyed my peppers... I went to the vegetable garden in the other day and my banana pepper plant was split in half. Whitney, (if it were me) I would move one of the lungwort to the other side, place one of the hostas you got next to it, or near it on each side and maybe line the section of the path with the liriope where you took the lungwort out (mirror it like the side you just planted..). So you would then have lungwort, Hosta, ajuga, blackpearl, ajuga, blackpearl, ajuga, blackpearl, Hosta, lungwort and a section of liriope lining the path on each side, with the oakleaf in the back & in the middle of it all. That could work for the rest of the season & then you would have some time to look at it and think about it for a cpl of months & if you don’t like it, change it up in the spring. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I bet you could even tuck in the green corabells near the black pearl ones to make them pop. Like 1 on each side.. plant a purple clematis to climb the wishing well.. whatever you decide and plant I know it’s going to be beautiful 😊♥️ sorry you keep getting rained out while filming!
@creatingyourgarden
@creatingyourgarden Күн бұрын
🤔 that's a thought. That area is getting much more Sun than I originally thought it would. So might have to change it up a bit more anyway. And the clematis might actually work because of the fact that it's getting more sun.

Hi Miss T. I love your ideas and have one small suggestion you might consider. How about a wider path to accommodate a wagon etc, so you aren’t carrying bags of mulch. Save your back. Just a thought.
@creatingyourgarden
@creatingyourgarden Күн бұрын
I do have wider paths in some areas of the garden... I don't think I could get around not carrying any bags of mulch due to the fact that the entry points of the garden are on a hill. Sometimes it's just easier to carry a bag of mulch than loading my wheelbarrow and having to fight it all the way down the hill to not flip over LOL
