It's amazing that the car doesn't lose track at such high speed in the corners. For example, at the Carrera racetrack, you have to drive slowly into the curves, otherwise the car will fly out and roll over.

I have been looking at your moving vehicles video and wanted to ask where you got your plastic chain and gears from but comments have been turned off. I am trying to do something similar but am failing badly. I am using computer printer chai which is not ideal. Please help.

I used this motor, the 25rpm version on the basis I would not be running at the full 12v so it would be slower. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263753103864?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5UnrKn1lQoS&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=3Ji-97JVSRy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=WHATS_APP

Hi Ray. No this was old Scalextric track, the type with circular connectors, that I cut in half. I very carefully used a Stanley knife to cut as close to the middle seam of plastic on each section of track. This old style track is reasonably flexible so it was easy to cut through. I haven't tried cutting the new style Scalextric track but it is a more brittle plastic which might be prone to cracking if not cut completely through. If you are thinking of doing this yourself please be very careful! When I first started cutting track I had a few near misses where the blade skipped away from the centre line. Keep one hand well out the way while cutting with the other. I eventually worked out the best way was to keep gently scoring down the middle to cut through the plastic. Stanley knives, as you may know, are very very sharp! I held each piece of track with one hand at the top on a flat piece of scrap wood and used the knife to score downwards slowly away from my hand. Slow and gentle is the key!

Thanks for your comment. I have lots and lots of track just nowhere to set it all up easily. That's why I decided to see what I could do with a manageable sized board. When not in use it stands on its end in the garage and can be set up quickly. The plan is to hopefully exhibit it next year at one of the many model railway shows that take place around Scotland.
