Perhaps a stupid question: If a player started running from (for example) 2nd to 3rd base, but the fielding team throws it to 3rd base, is the running player then allowed to run back to 2nd if there is no other player there?
@socal2711 күн бұрын
As someone who absolutely loves baseball and knows practically everything about the sport, I will say that you need to be specific about who’s on base. Is it just the man on second base by himself? Or is there a man on second and first when the play happens? To answer your question (Assuming your asking what I think you’re asking) if a ball is put in play in the infield with JUST the runner on second, then he does not have to run to 3rd base if there’s a very high chance he’ll be thrown out, meaning he’s allowed to stay put at second However, if the ball is put in play with runners on second AND first, then both runners are forced to run no matter what, so if you’re a runner on second but theres also a runner on first, and a ball is hit right to the 3rd baseman, all he has to do is step on the bag and you are out as a runner, that is called a force out. I know this is a lot but I hope this helped 😂

@@socal27 I understand and I knew the rules you describe. My question was about when there's only a runner on 2nd. So I know he doesn't have to run, but what if he does and he's thrown out at 3rd, then 2nd base might still be 'open'. Is the runner then allowed to run back to 2nd (trying to get there before the ball?) or is het automatically out? I do understand that this situation doesn't happen a lot but I was just wondering.
@socal2711 күн бұрын
@@arnoutsercu4296 Well if he’s thrown out at 3rd, then he’s simply just out.
@philmccracken1798 күн бұрын
@@arnoutsercu4296yes he can go back to 2nd. Search “baseball pickle” which is a term used when a runner is trapped in between bases and he goes back and forth

Just a mistake @11:41 is that if score of both teams are equal it is a tie and then a "SUPER OVER" is played where an inning of just one over is played and the team who scored more in that super over wins, if it is also a tie then super over is continued until someone wins Draw is in test format where there are four innings of unlimited overs (i.e only way to end an inning is to get all 10 wickets) and thus both teams bat twice, A draw occurs when there is no winner and all 5 days are over

The strike zone is not the waist and knee. The strike zone is typically between the letters on the uniform on the shirt and the knee. The letters on the uniform are near the midpoint between the shoulders and waist.

1st. Chi is a chines word for Prana. just as meridians are chines word for Nadis. 2nd. Chakra means a weal and it is essentially the point where 2 or more nadis meet/cross. According to Yoga there are 72000 Nadis and 114 Chakras, 112 being in the physical body. 3rd. source of Prana on this Earth is Sun. the breath is not the source - it is a vehicle, through which Prana is distributed. 4th. blame all emotional and psychological problems on prana blockages in nadis is false. it plays a role, yes, but it is way more complex than just that. 5th. what Patanjali is saying is - control of your Prana is Pranayam. the way to do it - use your breath. 6th. your benefits are just a side effects. real benefit is taking control of your energies and balancing different Vayus, awakening Kundalini Shakti and much more. One such significant more is - now you are ready for Pratyahara. 7th. what you call types of Pranayama are just different breathing exercises, nothing more and nothing less. they are great, but they are not types of Pranayama. there are no types of Pranayama, but if you need to categories - then there is active and passive approach. you start with active(breathing exercises) and you progress to passive (observing) which is superior. In fact, you start with both, just that doing things is easier, then just staying aside and observing. Here is a nice paradox - gaining an absolute control over your Prana, you need to let go of any kind of control over your Prana. summary: not the first and not the last misunderstanding of Pranayama Sadhana as prescribed by Patanjali. but seeing the false and failed descriptions helps me to focus on what is the essence of such practices. So, in a way, I'm thankful.
