I have been to Japan, and many restaurants serve "American-style" sushi. I found little difference between Japanese and American sushi. Some things were common over there that are not common here. And yes, I tried many different restaurants that the locals went to.

mayonnaise on sushi = hawaiian pizza horror stories, in fact. when I eat food from other countries, I want something authentic. mayonnaise is a french sauce that is used in sandwiches, salads, or sided with fries or fried food. mayonnaise already contains sourness because of vinegar or lemon juice we put in, and sushi rice also contains vinegar, it doesn't mix well. who the fuck puts mayonnaise in rice, anyways ??? you monsters. maybe in a cold rice/tuna salad, but that's all... dear americans, instead of deep frying or covering in mayonnais/sugar any meal from any place, why don't you create your own gastronomy ?? don't go telling me about mac n cheese because italians learned to put cheese on pasta way before the discovery of america. do something original for fuck's sake.

You guys treated this town respectfully for the most part but damn did you try so hard to fish for being victim of racism. All your interactions are nice with people being kind to you and yet you still have this stupid ass line of "people didn't mind us yet we felt the didn't want us here." Like, based off WHAT????? People only being nice to you? It's clear the town isn't 96% white because they're in the habit chasing out asians and whatnot. So why try and pretend you know what's inside people's head in order to claim you're not wanted based on your race????

But there are places in Japan, Korea, and China that woukd make white people feel the same way... so... 😂 I also think you all experienced two key things 1) racism is a generational thing which is slowly dying out (not just in Harrison, Arkansas but around the world); 2) People tend to notice outsiders and often they're curious not necessarily racist; 3) racism still exists (around the world) and the only way to move past that is going out of your comfort zone to meet people outside of your ethnic circle.

When I was in college I was friends with a Japanese exchange student from Hiroshima. When she tried California roll for the first time, she shut her eyes, laughed out loud and said, “It’s not real sushi!” Her reaction was so hilariously honest I’ll never forget it.

I'm an Asian. I tried a lot of snacks from my country, neighbouring countries, few other non Asian countries that i visited and America. My favourite snack is still sunflower seed Chacheer brand from China and peanuts. Nothing fancy. I do think American snacks taste like chemicals. All given by friends and my brother. Never thought of buying them myself. I guess, it's just depends on whatever food that people grew up with. But it's good to try new stuffs, u might like them.

you should do sequels to this with country specific alcohol, randomly came up in my recommended today, i am from canada so id love to see japanese react to canadian whisky and beer. please if you do this use alpine or moosehead, not just labatt and molson canadian, they arent the full picture! also specific alcohols like IPAs if they arent popular in japan, some of them seemed to like bitter, thats as bitter as beer can get most of the time!

You didn’t even let him try the best ones but yes these are the most common I haven’t tried that eel one that I am aware of yet. My love for sushi is being able to have all these different flavors in a bite and being able to tell what each one is and when they combine well. If there is only two things in it to me that’s a waste it needs 3-4

I definitely prefer Japanese-style... There was a particular yelp food reviewer years ago who would refer to the american-style abominations as "jive-ass rolls," and that has stuck with me to this day... I just wish it was easier to find more-traditional-style sushi in my area...

@@Bringadingus I was talking about at 8:07 where they asked in Japanese cuisine where is mayo used and the chef saying it’s not really used. But it’s actually used in a LOT of foods. I get school lunch in Japan and I’m always surprised how much mayo is used haha pretty much every day But if you go to Genki Zushi/kura Zushi/Sushiro etc they do have it on a couple of pieces. 😊

If you think Baileys is too sweet, you should mix it with Irish whiskey and coffee. Yagermeister is medicine. It was made with herbs and medicinals for little old ladies to drink. I want to drink whiskey with the King of Roppongi until he passes out and use a marker to draw a big penis on his forehead.

The idea that American-style sushi isn't "real" or "authentic" is a misconception. It was developed by a Japanese chef while he was living in America.
