I think an Audrey blanket would be great! 🐈Also I love your waffling in videos, it is one of my favourite parts! Happy to see you back and easing yourself back into things in a way that works for you!

It was lovely to hear what youve been up to. Alex's elfmail is looking awesome. I really love the idea of a community project. If we did a blanket we could do squares for different stitch patterns, but a scarf would be awesome too. For your chair's blanket my first thought was you should weave it, 🧣if you stripped the warp too you could get a nice random-ish plaid. But ivalso really love the idea of a stripetly knitted blanket. 🦓 Have you seen the Excavation blanket by Jana Pihota? It's a wonderful pattern, and super adaptable, you could definetly use dice to decide the striping. I knit one in January with aran-bulky weight scraps and found it so moreish. The whole time i was working on it I was thinking it would be great to do in handspun.

Definitely an Audrey blanket 🐈

I personally like to use a slip knot to start working in the round. It ends up looking very similar to what you’re doing here :3

I vote for ocean colors. Love those blue/green fibers. I would definitely share my fav stitch pattern with you for a group inspired project. Could this be flexible and be either a blanket or scarf?

Audrey cat colours would be great for your chair cover 👌✨😃

Warm colours. Weaving could be nice. knitted is more flexible as to making it to size as you go.

For the blanket I vote ocean 🌊🧜♀️you have a lot of neutral and black already and I think it will look really lovely against all that. The idea of a community blanket also sounds lovely 😊

My vote is for an Audrey blanket so 🐈 🧣? Thank you for the video, life can get really hectic and it’s a nice reminder to stop, breathe, and knit. I had a moth outbreak and it’s made my crafting suddenly very stressful, so it’s nice to just sit down and enjoy some cat nonsense and chair love!

Oh goodness, I am so sorry to hear about your moth situation, I hope you can get it under control and your crafting becomes a relaxing process once more! Thank you so much for the company!

Lovely to see you. I prefer the less structured discussions. Often knitting podcasts feel so clinical, so keep up the waffling 😁 How about browns and greens like the forest?
@kattweaver7 күн бұрын
Thank you so much, it's amazing how the slight reframing can make it feel so much more comfortable to me, I'm glad that seems to ring true for you too! Ooooo browns and greens...now that's tempting too. A Forest woven blanket and a Sea knitted community blanket...

Hi Kat if I was you don't use your good handspun yarn. Go for a more synthetic yarn like acrylic and then you will be able to wash it easily if needed without ruining it.
@kattweaver7 күн бұрын
I think a hardy wool that will felt a little will be my route, I love handwashing wool so much, I'm not sure why, it just feels good 🤭
@jojannekevervloet16357 күн бұрын
Regarding blankets! ¿Por Qué No Los Dos? I feel you should make two! I feel you should have a base blanket that is just a plain weave in fairly neutrals, hardy fibres. And then also make a knitted one with the oceany foresty ones. Because then you can always choose to add some soothing oceany foresty vibes whenever you feel like it! But you can also take those vibes elsewhere when it's wanted elsewhere :)
@kattweaver7 күн бұрын
I think you're totally right, I think that's kind of where my brain was heading, a neutrals sturdy woven blanket for the base and a lovely knitted one in a little more fun colours with a little community twist to it!

Thank you for chatting with me, I've missed it so much!! I know you're steering away from the more normal podcast-y vibes, but I really just enjoy you waffling away about projects because it is what comes closest to just chatting over coffee with some needles in hand!

<3 Miss you too lovely soul! Let's organise a catch up soon please? It feels like a slightly reframing and not making it feel like it's as regimented as it was has been quite refreshing, similar information just, feels a bit more, you're right, like a chat over coffee!

I have a James N Watts pattern obsession, si it super cool to see what you made. I've made a few of his patterns, but I still have most of the mesh patterns to go through. Luckily, it's warm year-round where I live so I can get lots of use out of those open mesh and lace patterns.

And here I thought I was the only one that still had an i-Pod Classic. I think the last time mine was updated might have been 2009/10. I've recently thought about trying to get the music off of it, since I don't have most of it anywhere else anymore (there are a few CDs floating around from forever ago, but I don't have anything to play those with anymore, either), and the button in the middle is starting to get squirrel-y.

Hi dear Katt 🤗 it's great to see you again and hear what you're up to! I finished my elfmail and am so pleased with how it turned out thanks to color inspiration from you 😊 I love the new alpaca silk top, very cool effect! I started on the Lucrezia Blouse by Fabel Knitwear, really wanting an airy pullover that I could wear on summer nights, but I'm finding the mohair too warm. Maybe alpaca silk would be a better choice? Or maybe I need to loosen the gauge out a bit and adjust the pattern. I'm also considering trying it with just one strand of mohair instead of two, but not sure if it will be durable enough. If anyone has any thoughts or tips, I'd gladly take them 😊

Thank you for your lovely videos! I just finished my first storm hood out of Jacob roving I handspun and I love it. I will have to try making a “softer” one with mohair. I have curly hair and find if I wear a hat, my hair looks rubbish. But a looser, soft hood might be just the thing. Your paintings are so inspiring! Sending love from Minnesota, USA :)

It was so lovely to catch up with your projects! I've also been paused on knitting for a bit and gone back to crochet (but doing amigurumi, which I've never done before) and played around with chainmaille and felting - it's so rejuvinating to find other creative outlets <3
