I had a silver one joined the Army in 77 covered it in grease and left it for 6 years in the old air raid shelter in the back garden, 6 years later flat battery half flat tyre's I kicked it over and it started, under the grease it was near perfect condition no more than 8000 on the clock probably much less can't remember, we were moving house and I had a car so gave it away to a friend, just to be rid of it, what a fool I was wish I had it now.

Had one in the eighties that I swapped a KE125, no idea of mechanics then as when I turned the lights on the power dropped. Next time I saw one was in a racing exhibition in Douglas museum, still beautiful in race trim

A beautiful bike. I use to own a 1971 T350 back in the day. Gold colour. I miss that bike even after all those years. Nothing like a 2 stroke. Cheers NZ.

Very thirsty and a small tank. Mine did just 85 mies before hitting reserve. The original shocks are terrible. Only a single disc on the front, mine had twin discs. Paid £90 for it in 1986 [10 years old]

What a lovely bike! I had a red GT250B that I bought brand new in 1977 for around (I think?) £650. This one (like the B model) would put out 32 BHP. Great to hear and see yours going - great memories, great fun!!!!

Hi, I have been following all video on the T500 and the result is beautiful. I got this bike in 71 with the same colour and my dream is to find one to refurbish. Unfortunately, my wife tells me that I cannot keep two bikes in the garage. I have already a CB 750 K1 from 71. As you have both the H1 and T500, could you compare both? Best regards. Philippe from France

Normally only the 5th gear goes bad due to oil starvation in blocks upto '73 after which they were modified to hold 1400cc instead of 1200cc gearbox oil. My advice would be to do the mod yourself while the block is opened anyway.

Yes I’ve already done it, if you look at my short videos you’ll see the mod 👍🙂

Just regarding your exhuasts, have a look in your Tansha under members services... guy called russel. He knows a chromer, but he apparently likes working on 2t pipes and will get them looking alright for chroming. Get in touch and check out his work. Im getting my GT750A pipes done this winter. Loving watching the restoration, im hoping to get a T500 once I shift my ducati 748 (totally wrong bike to buy for my riding style)
