My Geandmaster in martial arts is also considered a healer in Reiki. We sat down once and he told me that long ago Martial Artist were not called Martial artist, They were Scholars, Cooks, Doctors and Protectors. They dedicated themselves outside of their own selfish desires and became selfless and caring of others. That really set a spark in my heart and when I asked about Reiki he said "I am not a Healer, I just help them heal properly."

For someone who accepts the smallest part of what cannot be seen without even understanding it, this person's comments on not believing in demons is sad. He dabbles in realms of things unseen having no comprehension of what and where the power is actually coming from. This is not vision, it is blindness. Consider: If a demon can make a person feel better in this world but that trick pulls the person away from knowing G-d, what has the demon actually given the person? Nothing. In the scheme of eternity, a momentary feeling of well being or bliss is irrelevant. Those moments are wholly swallowed up by the eternity of separation from G-d. What a lopsided deal.

I don't know how badly you've sprained your ankle but when I did really badly, I wasn't breathing slowly(either holding my breath and groaning or breathing really quickly), my heart was pounding(I could feel it in the swelling in my ankle), and I didn't want to touch it. I also have yet to see someone actually touch the broken part of the bone they just broke, maybe near it but not on it. So that right there does make it actually arguable. Along with the fact that your body goes through physiological changes (hormone release, etc.) that take place when you're in a deep sleep state. You also still heal while you're awake, healing doesn't stop after you sleep. Ultimately, the skepticism comes from the fact that the "energy" that you're talking about and manipulating isn't objectively detectable or quantifiable. I'm fine with Reiki being something that heals through the fact that, as humans, we like a caring touch and it's relaxing, also receiving personal attention from another is calming and soothing. If it was just that, like a different kind of "massage", it would have utility, no additional supernatural explanation needed.
@LMD2915
@LMD2915 4 күн бұрын
There is absolutely nothing supernatural about the movement of energy, how do you think your phone works?? And just because you don’t touch your owies, you assume that other people don’t either? First thing I have done all my life is to lay my hands on an injury and rub. If it’s actually bleeding, I staunch the flow by pressing it hard. If my head hurts, I lay my fingers on my temple and massage. Maybe you don’t touch your injuries, but most people do.

Thank you for the comment - so in the video you may recall that I was noting that I'm not referring to serious trauma (such as you've described) but more minor sprains or traumas that don't require medical attention. And further, yes of course we continue to heal when we are awake - it's simply that when we sleep we are able to heal much more effectively. I fully agree that there is a lot of language in the Reiki world that is off putting, and for good reason - and I wish the world of Reiki would do more to remove such supernatural language from the practice. This is a point that I'm consistently making across my channel in my other videos. I hope this helps clarify and thanks for the comment!

Thank you for the comment. I think the point I'm making, that you are eluding to, is where I'm talking about the external world being a reflection of our internal world...so if we work to quiet our internal mind and body, then the external world becomes calm as well - external turmoil is a reflection of our own internal turmoil. I hope that helps!

Thank you! It's so nice to have a simplified way to explain Reiki. I agree we should not try to "sell" all of the extra healing tools like crystals, feathers, etc. There is a time and place for those. Doing sound baths is another area that is hard to describe to people. We have moved into a time where more and more people are receptive to these healing techniques.

Thank you, again. Your message of simplicity, and distilling resonate with me. Refreshing. I am a beginner, despite having already done a couple workshops. I find it challenging to make time to practice reiki on myself; there is no immediate ‘proof’ or *result* to identify. And so my western mind questions whether this is a valuable way to spend my time. “Am I doing it right?” “Is anything happening?” “Have I already become too distracted, therefore negating any healing that may have otherwise occurred?” These are some of the many questions my busy beta mind comes up with as an excuse to not proceed with a personal reiki practice. I wouldn’t attempt to practice on any other person if I cannot first show myself that I can (a.) focus my attention, and (b.) believe in the practice (not just go through the motions, pretending. Thank you. I discovered your channel just a few days ago. I appreciate your perspective very much.

Sorry this doesn’t help me understand Sprained my ankle bad a couple of times and last thing a did was hold it as it’s too tender to hold I elevated it , did anything to not have it move and but ice on it . Any heat comes from your body sending blood to it to help it heal not an energy ?
@RootsofLife
@RootsofLife 12 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment - the example that I'm giving regarding the sprained ankle, as noted in the video, would be for minor/moderate injuries. With more severe injuries of course you may need prompt care. What I'm referring to is our natural instinct to hold wounds or areas of trauma..or conversely, to hold areas of focus on the body. With the practice of Reiki the hands can become much hotter than baseline body temp which is what I'm referring to for the heat. I hope that helps!

I’ve been trying for years to really understand reiki but your explanation has made the most sense. It sounds almost like a mindfulness meditation that is led one of one by another person. Reinforcing attention to certain areas through physical or near physical touch. Thank you!
@RootsofLife
@RootsofLife 23 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment - indeed at some point Reiki can be viewed as similar to a mindfulness meditation - I think the main difference though is within Usui Reiki Ryoho the final aim would be to work towards a mind and body that is silent, so perhaps one step beyond mindfulness. However, this is difficult to achieve, so keeping a practice that reinforces attention to one area of the body is already such a beneficial practice

@RootsofLife
@RootsofLife 23 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment and the kind words, I appreciate it. Reiki is a method that we can use to work towards increased levels of peace in our mind and body, and so as a result of this we are giving our physical body increased opportunities or time to heal itself. So in that regard, yes indeed it aids in healing. Ultimately, however, Reiki is a process to discover internal peace. I hope that helps!

Hi, genuine question here- if the point is stillness and not necessarily to strive for changing and rather to accept and see everything as-is, does that mean there is in fact, never any blockages or problems? Why is it that so many reiki practitioners seem to describe in thorough detail what exactly is wrong, and that they can move things? Is that just not the traditional method ?
@RootsofLife
@RootsofLife 23 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment and question - it's a great one! I think you are absolutely correct. All attachments and beliefs originate in the mind - full stop. So if we work towards a mind that is quiet and calm, then these attachments simply drop away and, as a by product of this, we can recognize healing taking place. This is no different to when we sleep - our sense of self drops away and the body heals with increased efficiency. So, yes, there are never any problems or blockages - those are simply a function of attachments in the mind. I think the reason such language is ripe within the Reiki word is that it is easy to get seduced by the spectical of the journey, or of the belief of the self found in the practice. This could be initially established simply by the teacher or the course material reinforcing such attachments or encouraging people to believe that Reiki can unlock powers in others that simply can't be the case. The only person that can heal you is you. Reiki helps us to discover the internal peace and stillness from which healing occurs. I hope that helps and thanks again!

If people truly already feel they know they have the power within themselves to heal, is external attainment or initiation really necessary?
@RootsofLife
@RootsofLife 23 күн бұрын
This is another great question, I thank you for it! We learn Reiki - the practice, meditations, initiations and so on so that we can fortify our own tool box, so to speak, to utilize when our mind and body are not at peace. When traumas arise, or difficulty, or pain, or simply when a busy mind returns, then we can go back to all that was learned in the practice to help us return to increasing levels of stillness. If perfectly still, then there is no practice - or anything for that matter - there simply is I AM - but of course, this state is very difficult to reach. So when not there, we work with the practice to, hopefully, help us return. I hope that makes sense and thanks for the question!

I'm horrified by the Reiki Article in Wikipedia, whose author knows neither Healing nor Science. Shall we talk Science? Post Master Ben Franklyn was puzzled at the time a mail packet would take from London to Philadelphia, and researched what he called The Gulf Stream, which he could not explain, and which the Admiralty could not accept, yet nobody considers it Pseudo-Science today. Placebos are the majority of Western Healing, for which there is still no explanation, but every new drug must be tested against a placebo. What I've read of Intercessory Prayer, is that it succeeds statistically, in cases that don't tell family members but, in cases where family members are told, it's as though it's already being done. Once we concede the efficacy of Inercessory Prayer, who's to say Laying Hands isn't a form of Prayer?

For my thoughts on attunement and distance sessions you can check out: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hd-hZrRqrd_HmIE.html & kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ptV2gadlqarOpWw.html And to your question on the levels and when one may be ready. One is ready when they feel ready to progress. Usui Reiki Ryoho is not simply a healing modality, rather it is a modality that allows us to turn further into the self. That is really what it is about. In brief, the levels of Usui Reiki Ryoho can be viewed as progressive steps deeper into the self. So when one is ready to venture deeper into the self one may consider taking the next step with their understanding of the practice. I hope that helps!

I’d hit the ground running when I got off the plane from Kathmandu and had hardly stopped for breath. I went to the temple at Wat Rachanada on the river and in the silence allowed Tietsin’s mantra to spin without restriction in my head. I cannot tell you the specific Pali words, farang, for I am bound to secrecy, but I am allowed to describe the blade wheel, which is imagined as a star-shaped weapon closely resembling the shiken used by ninjas, although unlike the shiken it has a disturbing way of morphing into other shapes. The blade wheel is the enemy of self-delusion-“self-delusion” meaning just about everything in the field of normal everyday perception, in particular our most cherished delusions about ourselves. -John Burdett, "The Godfather of Kathmandu".
