I have about 35 pairs of Docs, I've tried many different ways to break them in, including some of the ones in this video, however, I now use a LEATHER SHOE STRETCHING SPRAY, and it does the job really well and really quick. The one I use is available on Amazon and is by KAPS and is called " SHOE STRETCH ". You just spray it on the inside of the boot or shoe on the heel, the sides, or wherever you have trouble with them, and get it so the leather is damp, then put them, tie them up and walk around in them for 20 minutes or so. Sometimes doing it 2 or 3 times in a row helps if they are really stiff. I have had really great results with it and have been able to wear my Docs in less than a day with absolutely no trouble at all. Hope this gives you another choice for wearing in your Docs. 🥾👞👍😃

Just to contribute my two cents here.... Yeah, if you compare modern MiE and Asian made ones, the differences are very minuscule. However.... Vintage MiE is drastically different. I have like 25 pairs of pre-2003 Permira acquisition and the difference is night and day. I bought the 2017 Beavis and Butthead pairs which died within 4 months of purchase (the sole completely split), then went back to swap them for another pair and the leather started to crack despite the fact that I applied Dubbin to them twice a month. That was the first and last time I got a modern Doc boot. My other MiE vintage pairs? Refuse to die altogether. Soles and leather are still in incredible condition despite all of the work I have put in them. All they need is the good old Dubbin once a month and they are fine. Final Verdict? Dr. Martens went the way of so many companies like them and were acquired by a conglomerate who values profit and cutting corners above everything else. Do yourself a favour and get a vintage pair on ebay and other websites, your feet and wallet will thank you enormously.

just got some Doc Martens x Lowell today. I walked around the house in them for about 2 hours and thought hey they are actually quite comfortable not too bad ohh I was wrong!! just went for a 3km walk prob not the smartest thing to do halfway through the walk my heals were fuuuucked i had blood on my socks and 1,5 kilometres to walk back most of the way uphill I will try your suggestions ahaaha

My feet are shredded after the first wear of my DrMartens ouch!!!

I have been wearing dr marten since I was 8 and never had blisters or anything except when i bought the 20eyed boots but other than that the best long lasting shoes, None have torn and look good.

Hello from Chile, I was disappointed, it is not a good leather, they are made in Vietnam, I bought them in Berlin Germany, after a while, less than a year, the leather begins to crack in the front part where the foot bends When walking, for the price I think it is a scam

Mistake number one:getting new dr martens,get brandit,oxbloods or STEEL boots. New boots are way worse quality then they were back in the day and they no longer offer steel toe variants,brands i mentioned offer actual 10-14 eye boots and come in more variants then dr martens.

Spend only over 1000€ for several, indeed lots of pairs of Docs once I got infused with them half a year ago. I only bought the Warm Wair ones as a special offer new and the rest as barely used but way cheaper ones on a selling platform in Germany. I like to wear all of my Docs - too many? But all are different! - and switch between them back and forth. All now are been broken in and I take care of the boots, cleaning and oiling them regulary. So are they worth the money? At least for the price I paid for each pair. Other than sometimes special Daytonas boots for motorbike riding I now don't wear any other shoes in my flat or outside. They fit me well in practical use. But I don't make a Doc Marten cult out of them, though they look nice and good and I can understand why people are doing it.

I'm from Brasil and a frind of mine brought from italy an original 1461! I little bit tough to break in at the beginning, but now thats awesome and style! I'm in love!

On the cheaper Asian made Docs the leather is generally dyed all the way through, so scuffs and scratches are less noticeable. On the more expensive English made Docs only the outer layer of the leather is dyed and coated, so a deep scuff or scratch will show the natural leather underneath. As the tounge is quite thin there's only a light layer of dye/coating, so it will wear off a bit. My old oxblood Docs back in the early 90's got black marks on the tounge from the black laces. That leather was dyed all the way through though. You can always get a leather dye or just black polish to fix them up a bit, but leather boots usually look best when they look well-aged

They absolutely do make half sizes. They make legit, made in England doc martens in half sizes. I'm 52 and have been buying size 9.5 for decades.

the classic sole is nothing against the bext when it comes to wearing down. bex will last a LOT longer while classics become flat VERY fast

Thanks. I can only say I have the MIE 1460's, and my Brannock size is 11d (male); my doc's in 11d fit great. My small toes on each foot do lightly brush the side of the shoe where the toe starts to taper in, but the MIE's have a smaller last than the Asian versions.

my last doc martens 1460 made in england - strongest model from the webstore : only used 10 ten times - the leather is already cracked. ( I have 30 pairs of old doc's, more than 20 years old : no problem). My advise : Never buy a "new" doc martens, it is worst than chinese copy.

I warm them uo with a blow dryer and then 6 coats of mink oil and they are perfect never hurt

Hi, I have both the 1461 and 3989 in the same size. But I find 3989 is more roomy than the 1461. Always hurt my heel when I wear the 1461 🥲 and I have a bit of the wide feet. 1461 Smooth Leather (Made In Lao) 3989 Smooth Leather (Made in Thailand) The shoes for both had already break in. And just recently, I was thinking to buy Adrian Bex, any size suggest on the Adrian?
