Actually it is! The frame rate of the camera will often make things spinning at high RPMs appear to be moving very slowly or even backwards. We see the same thing fairly often with flywheels and pulleys in the engine videos. Thanks for watching 😊

@emeryvilleky2 ай бұрын
They definitely could be used to make a necklace, but the machine doesn’t link them together like some other chain making machines, it just makes the individual rings.
@emeryvilleky2 ай бұрын
What do you think these rings are for? Our best guess is jump rings for jewelry or other small chain, but we actually don’t know for sure! Have you ever seen a machine like this?

What an unusual engine! Very neat! I wonder if the governor is a little sticky and that's why it coasts so much and then fires like 3 times in a row to get back to speed?

Watching all this old time equipment brings back a lot of memories. I ran a lot of equipment with flat belts. Here are a couple of suggestions. The longer the belt the smother the power will be from the old 1 and 2 cylinder and hit and miss engines and also set up so you can run a belt crossed will help keep it on the pullies much better because most engines pull on the bottom belt which makes the bottom belt tight and the returning belt slack and wants to track to one side the other. Also a crossed belt is affected a lot less by wind.

The original 1911 print ads for these were fantastic, absolutely no flim-flam and to the point. The gist of it was "it's better and faster than a horse, and you don't need to feed it hay." Boom, sold, I'll take it.
