It's impossible to separate the artist from the art when the sole credit for the art goes to the artist Anyone who says different is either stupid, repulsive or has sympathy with the crime it's self

I was in the theater for the Clerks 3 premiere and Q&A in New Jersey. It was awful, and yet I felt so strange feeling like I was the only one who didn’t see how awful it was. People were crying into the mic during the Q&A. I’m glad others are talking about it now.

Lazenby's Bond is the one I'd like to be if I we're an actor. He was the only one who got to play both the charming/funny Bond and the gritty/vulnerable Bond. The other actors did one or the other.

He told his "partner"........yuck! Also, Zach and Miri just wasn't on the level of a Suoerbad! Too much of Kevin Smith's work is just hacky and contrived and just doesn't feel real. Like Superbad and the two leads feel like sincerely authentic people.....much more than a Jay and Silent Bob.

Kevin really is a liberal tool. Donates his money to women, trans, and binary? Women have been abused in that cult industry of his for years. Not binary(a new thing liberals came up with) and not trans(who haven’t been really in the industry).

It is interesting as an oddity and failure Saltzman and Broccolli were cheap and stupid by not paying Sean Connery more money i.e. Sharing the profits. What would have happened if Sean Connery was in the film ? George Lazenby is a Nice Guy, Sean Connery the heartless Bad Boy It could have have the same sentiments as Alfie (1966) The John Barry score especially during the ski chase + Diana Rigg + Sean Connery = A Big Box Office Success It's still a very good film But it's legacy is "Where is Bond ?" "Where is Sean Connery ?" You can't take that character away from him when he created it. How many of these "Bonds" are Fake Mink ? Stepping into the shoes that they themselves never created ? I thought Roger Moore was a great Bond but he spent his youth playing Leslie Charteris's The Saint. You can't parachute someone into these roles when they have no experience of them.

Translation: the feminist crap ruined the movie by castrating Bond, sending the filmmakers running back to Connery, but the soy narrator likes it. But reality is it was rejected completely.

I also think that Kubrick foresaw the analyzation of the film that brings us to all the video's about it today. It may well be intentional along with unintentional errors

Zack and miri make a porno was a brilliant movie. Shame on critics and audiences for sleeping on this should be classic. And if you skipped tusk, then that is your loss. I was spellbound by the story and it was haunting. The end was a brutal tour de force. While Kevin is hit or miss more often than his mallrats creative efforts, he can still mine diamonds

I really wish he'd made Moose Jaws instead of Yoga Hosers. I listened to his podcasts for decades and I was listening to Smodcast during that time. I always felt like the joke was that he was going to make them because no one could tell him no. And he just wanted to make movies.

Travis' behavior has a lot of similarity with the behavior of someone suffering from chronic pain/physical suffering. Chronic pain sufferers too have to make immense effort in social settings, to "appear" to be normal. It's simply too much effort at the end of the day though.

I can't hate on Kevin. I may disagree but i cant hate on him. I watched his "Burn in Hell" Q&A when i was just out of highschool and the story about his father passing away really hit home. Knowing that im my father's only child and my mother's oldest i'm most likely going to be the one to deliver the news when they eventually pass just like Kevin's brother had to do

Loved this video as a fellow diehard fan of Kevin Smith! I’m definitely part of the obscure Tusk fanbase lol. I will defend Tusk until the day I die based solely on the fact that it completely embraces the notion that it is an exploitative horror film that has nothing to say with such open aplomb. The truth of the matter is is that the majority of said films are nothing other than their exploitative elements, which turns Tusk (whether unintentionally or not) into a parody on the so-called “legitimacy” of these films as pieces of art. Necromantik? The Slaughtered Vomit Dolls Trilogy? Tusk looks at these “films” and says EAT YOUR HEART OUT!. 🦭

Comic book movies are waning, especially after, like Star Wars, being destroyed by Disney. People are looking for something different, and tired of movies posing as big picture universes that feel more like watching someone play what used to be your favorite video game, but trash it, tear out its base components, and remake it as utter woke panderverse garbage. Even so, Kevin Smith is not the director for whatever the new era of movies may be. My hopes is, while Bob Iger may want to take it to producing movies with AI for characters, and generating the stories, some indie group of directors using more organic style cinematography will win out. Outside some cinemas having had arcade machines in their lobby, no one goes to the movie to see a video game play through. We go to see a movie that either entertains or maybe challenges us in various ways. There are genres for a reason, and we don't all like the same things. Just because it's not an action movie doesn't make it unworthy of being in the theater. But do we have directors and writers that can write and convey original stories any more?

I got tired of the 'geek culture' BS. It was a way for so many to hijack something that used be mostly a matter of a select group of high school and college age people that were not a part of the 'in-crowd' of popular kids. Sometimes it was a matter of quirks that were considered weird to the in-crowd. Most of the time it was a matter of people that were academic, put their time into book learning, and generally kept to themselves, which went against the in-crowd that wants people's attention. It's kind of the difference of introvert (geeks) v. extrovert (popular/in-crowd), and this continues on, as, regardless how smart or good one's ideas may be, it's often the case that the traditional geek will have a harder time getting the word out, or even keeping credit for their ideas, as the popular people go on to leadership roles, such as CEOs, etc., and they tend to take what geeks first created and claim as their own. So geeks wind up working in the background, often unsung for their contributions while the popular people take all the glory. Today, 'geek culture' has been over-used, and tends more to be a way to sub-categorize various fandoms, regardless if they would have anything to do with the traditional meaning of 'geek'. For me, I finally found geek culture to become unintelligible as a definition of anything when you had popular sports announcers and sports players calling themselves football geeks, or baseball geeks, etc. Sorry, but jocks were often considered the antithesis of traditional geeks, and often were the classic bullies toward geeks. At best, they sometimes used geeks for doing their homework, either paying for said help, or threaten them to do so to avoid physical violence. So an atheletic geek is, at best, an oxymoron. Add on to that political agendas and other things that hijacked what was geek, and, quite honestly, many geeks started to move away from being considered geeks. It's no longer a definition with any real meaning any more.
