I don't remember exactly how long, but you can check the comments, I think we gave some answers a while back. The path from the lake back to the train is in parts steep, but easy to follow.

This place looks incredible and yes I already had this pencilled in for visiting. It's towards the top of my list tho the crowds might be a bit annoying. Hopefully the rock falls are predictable as I can imagine it not being very pleasant caught on the wrong side. The cow near the end was funny causing a bit of mayhem. Super capture that makes me want to visit even more now 👍

The crowds are indeed a bit much. It always surprises me to see that people carelessly just walk the mountains. Some really don't look like they are sure-footed enough. The rockfall will not be an issue, if you stay off the closed paths. You can check the app "Schweiz Mobil" for current closures. It only affects the south side of the lake right now.

This was SO beautiful. I remember it was around 4 years ago myself and Brett road tripped around Europe and we went to Bern and hiked around Oeschinensee, I have to say, it was at that moment I knew that travelling was for me, the views were indescribable, like in this video and it just makes me so happy to revisit through your lens. I know there’s levels to strength compacted to zebras but these things are strong as hell …it’s scary seeing lions and crocodiles taking them down so easily sometimes hahaha…the strength difference is crazy

Simply looking at their hind legs... I don't want to be near when they kick. We didn't witness any attacks, but I can believe that they are a demonstration of the danger of these predators. Most lions we saw almost felt harmless, just meandering around in the morning or sleeping on the road.

Mr. and Mrs. H4H Wow...Portugal ....that sound your summer vacation has started. haha I was told from my close friend that I could love it for kayaking. Now you are representing the highest summit. A lot of information beforehand will be appreciated. I like the safety regulations considering your destination. Yes, I notice...you call Lava Rock? Remarkable formation. You two do not look tired even though the air gets thin on the steep uphill. hahah Definitely challenging.. Now here it is...your reward...I am speechless...I feel like I am on the airplane looking down...wow you are above the clouds... I wish you could spend more time, but I know you had limited time.. .No way..hahha no good for PPL with acrophobia 17:39 hahahah I am sure you enjoy your unforgettable triumphs Well done. Hi Ms. Kayak7seas. I have to say that I consider the safety requirements a bit too strict. If you spent some time in the mountains, these restrictions are more a hassle than a benefit. But I can see how it helps keeping people from hurting themselves. It is surprising how many people we saw in sneakers, given the painful experience one will have walking on sharp volcanic rock for a day without good shoes. The mountain is a still active volcano, so the rock is sharp and will reallz hurt aftera while without thick soles beneath your feat. The ascend was hard, given the timelimit that we had imposed on us based on the start and arrival times, but it was still possible. I can guarantee that we have both been exhausted a bit. Being above the clouds always feels special and the view from up top is incredible. It is not the same kind of achievement as standing on top of Africa, but a great one day trip and we were glad we did manage to book a spot on a great day.

Thank you for your kind words. We are slowly seing some increase in engagement and viewership. It is a tough road making it among the heaps of small channels, but we are happz to finally starting to see some reward. Thank you Yasmin ☺️. We had a few places with inversions as beautiful as this. I can recommend Tenerife, if you want to find yourself an almost guaranteed one. The clouds always gathered around El Teide, and a picture like this is almost a daily sight.

The trail is indeed difficult if hiking is hard for you. We do go on hikes regularily here in Switzerland, yet it ended up challenging in parts. The ascend is really steep, so we had to push ourselves a lot. How did you enjoy the island, when you visited?

It really was a nice little jungle in between the green fields. The tunnels were fun, though some people seemed to have a hard time with them. You really cannot have claustrophobia on this trail. Thank you for your support.

Hi Mr. H4H. It is simply gorgeous and peaceful. I wonder if many bird watchers visit such a quiet destination but birds singing in the background. I like stairs and bridges at the beginning. those unique tunnels I hope you did not bump your head with. hahah Did you take a torch with you? hahah what can I say? Parking bikes on the roof? who can fly? hahahah 11:25 How is the internet situation within the thick woods and tunnels? chills? No ending machines? hahah Well done I guess you don't have to register here in the mountain to hike.

Hi Ms Kayak7Seas, indeed this one did not require a registration. We only had small torches, but those were enough. We used the light from a GoPro mod. Not much but good enough. It is narrow at points, but we managed to get through without hitting our heads. One girl coming from the opposite direction did have a hard time crossing through the tunnel. Overall we did enjoy bird sounds a lot during the hike. A lot of people were in the woods, but we were lucky enough to enjoy a few quiet moments.

Yo nailed it. Congrats to you, Mr. and Mrs. H4H. Hmmm..no offence and I don't mean to hurt your feeling, but for the best. I noticed your eyes hesitate to look at the camera and speak for once or twice. hahahah you could just showcase something and speak naturally without any harshness.

The area around lake Luzerne is also one of our favorites. So beautiful. The day was pretty hot, and I always carry a lot of camera equipment, to also take nice pictures for our instagram. So it is indeed sweating from the steep incline at the start :D. The wild garlic is quite common across Switzerland. In the spring months, you can find it almost everywhere. Entire hills are covered by it, so it is an interesting fragrence during the hike. The feedback you provide is also something Ms HFH has pointed out. I appreciate such feedback a lot, as we both try to work and improve.

The fog is playing out magical adn mysterious in the woods, I reckon 4:06 wow finally boardwalks and they look new to me 5:34 OMGoodbess, I would have been blown away at the summit hahahah. Hi, Mr. and Mrs. H4H Wow...Green and Green and then Green. The surrounding of the trail is filled with various colors of greens. Spring has arrived...or may be summer-like Ohhh..I see fallen trees/dead trees over the trail wow hahahhaa what? roosters? 4:53? sounds like Key West hahaha Are they wild? Aweee... I can hear it I can feel it Now I can see it Beautiful waterfall...The water color is amazing in the swimming hole. I imagine the mist from the waterfall soaks your body, I reckon 5:55 As always, your drone footage adding special treat such as 6:32 The water is beautifully filmed, I reckon 7:52 8:2 11:30 also I like green moss on the rocks... A little cascade from the trail is a surprise...ooops the trail seems a little muddy hahhahah Nice to see the trees provide some shade for the hikers. Fungai is cute 12:08 What are those buildings on the right? 13:21 hahaah are you kidding these brick road is the trail, too? hahaha 14:28 Lovely ambient music.... Well done. I am delighted to see you two on this trail. Bravo!!! I guess the chasing waterfall in my next upcoming may not as good as yours hahahahah

The roosters were such a surprise for us too. There was a whole bunch of them hanging around one corner. It seems that they are wild roosters living in the forest, but I might be mistaken. The waterfall would have been a nice location to cool off, but it was a rather cold day, so we didn't go for a swim. Some people tried, but they didn't seem to enjoy themselves very much. The shots from above with the drone I also always enjoy. We always try to be respectful of others, not to disturb the people around us. The views from above the trees always add something special. The buildings here were a almost abandoned village at the top of the startpoint of the trail. Some very small set of houses is still occupied, but most people have moved away. Thank you so much for all your kind words. Very much appreciated. Also, the best thing about chasing waterfalls is never the video, but the experience you had. Also some of your Kayak waterfalls made me quite jealous.

How long is the hike and from where does it start? Do you have to take the cable chair?

This depends a lot on your speed in the terrain and how much you want to enjoy the landscape. It can be done in about 3:45 I'd say, but we took more time, just enjoying the lakes. For the cable car: you have to segments. The gondola and the chair lifts. For a day hike, the Gondola is going to be required unless you are looking for an extra challenge. The chair lifts go in two segments. One up to Gaffia, and one to the Pizol Hut. We have done the hike also without the last lift to Gaffia, but it will add about 40 to 60 minutes or so to your time. Keep in mind that the last lift down from Gaffia is at about 16:30

Not sure what the time from the hut is. Should be about 15 minutes early to match Gaffia. I also find the hike more beautiful from Pizol Hut to Gaffia than the other way around.

If you had to choose between this hike and Rota da Água - Janela do Inferno, which one would you choose? We're hoping to do both, but might need to prioritize. Thank you for fantastic trail videos.

If you are limited for time, I'd say the Janela do Inferno was slightly better. The tunnels provide a bit of adventure and the waterfall from the cave was really nice. If it's not on the list yet, the hike to the Lagoa do Fogo would trump both of them. We will have a video on that one soon, but it was the best hike we did on Sāo Miguel. Both hikes you mention here are quite short, and we actually did both in one day. So if you have one day, you could do both of them if you want.

If the weather is nice, it’s an incredible hike. It will take longer, but you will see a beautiful levada, nice plant life, a few small waterfalls and a great view to the lake. It’s a lot of uphill in the beginning, but worth it 100%. We hope you will have a great time hiking over there 😊

@@HikeForHappiness, no it looks pretty much the same here from what I remember. There is actually a cave system (Kango 2, 3 and 4) beyond the Adventure Tour, that's only open to trained cave explorers and researchers. Places where you need to dive underwater to get into other sections.

We do both have a diving license, but I guess that goes outside of the casual visit. We did recently visit a cave in Switzerland that turned out to be a lot more adventurous, but the caves here were a lot prettier. Have you visited other caves?
