I recently purchased a 65 mustang and the car is in damn near perfect condition with all of the original panels. It has the original 289 in it and factory AC option. The problem I have with it is 1st the 6" play in the steering wheel "assisted power steering" and 2nd the loss of power when running the AC "Fine on the Hwy but cuts off when I have to turn". It has the import braces installed but not Shelby dropped. Any owner's or classic car mechanics have any suggestions to remedy?

Best interior audio tunes ever! Love a proper close ratio manual trans, solid lifter noises. Pure car guy stuff PLease get some padding on those bars anywhere near your head. Those can kill ya if you ball if up or some celphone lovin fool smacks ya.

That power steering bracket is due to the headers .It is lower or taller than oe one to clear the headers .

I stayed at the same hotel as you did in Bowling Green, Ky. for the Hot Rod Power Tour 2024. I was gonna take a pic or two that Sunday before the event, but it was raining. I thought, no big deal, I'll get a pic in the morning ....mistake, when went down to the parking lot, you had already left, never seen it again...lol....I'd love to have one similar one day, nice job man !.....Tom

Shot in the dark on a response…Dylan, what is the wheel/tire/hubcap setup on the truck? I’d like to replicate the look on my build. Thank you.

Keep the parking shoes adjusted properly. I'm having to replace the entire parking brake assembly because the shoes wore into the pedestals the slide against. Also apply some brake caliper grease between the side of the shoe and the pedestals. You'll know you have a problem when you pull your handle and the brake won't hold. Also you'll have very little handle movement.

Cool video, 255 Horsepower at the rear wheels is not bad. How much compression do you have? What Camshaft are you using? At what type of mufflers are you running, I ran FlowMaster dual chamber on my past 1966 A code Mustang Fastback and they were a bit too loud for me, I wish I could have fit three chamber FlowMaster's. Magna Flow's are also nice sounding, and sound mellow at idle. To use Flex fuel E85 don't you need a Stainless Steel or Plastic Gas Tank so you don't corrode the factory steel one?

Great video and information, unfortunately using the factor E-Brake crossbar will not work if you use a Richmond 5 or 6 speed or a Tremec T56 6 speed on early Mustangs as the transmission cross member is replaced and has no mounting braket for it, I took pictures of how Mustang Plus in Stockton, California used a Lokar E-Brake kit on their 66 Mustang Fastback restomod with a Tremec T56 Magnum 6 speed when it was up on the rack for their car show.

One more. Get a gas filler neck insert so you can fill your tank and not spill gas everywhere.

If you add a little more initial timing it might help with your cold start some w/o choke but it may take some of that awesome lumpy idle away....
