That’s sad that your daughter’s betta fish died, I love betta fish and I understand her pain! I bet she would love to have a betta tank in her room! A breeder I recommend is PNW bettas! She has amazing betta fish! And I’m sure your daughter would love picking one from her website!

If you put red and blue shrimp together, the next generation will be mostly wild type shrimp, and black shrimp, which I personally think they look neat!

Very cool, I actually have some together in a fish bowl for about a year. It doesn’t get much light and haven’t really looked at it to closely ever except seeing shrimp and snails everywhere. I would be curious to clean that up and see what’s actually in there and what they look like. Thanks for watching Talisa😁👍

I’m in Wisconsin in a city, not that it’s not possible but I would put money on them jumping out or possibly birds. I had these swordtails disappear a couple years ago when I had them in this big tub outside. They were in there with a small koi who I figured ate them but now think they might have jumped. I have red mulch surrounding the pond so it would be easy to get lost in there and the ants can devour a fish in a days time. Either way it sucked. Thanks for watching 😁👍

@@pattys_aquatics I'm sure it definitely sucked. Here in the Ohio valley, you can't have any sort of fish or turtles, etc, outside. The raccoons are problem solvers! If you have anything outside overnight, somehow those trash pandas will find a way lol. I love animals but I can't stand those things.

@@pattys_aquatics Thanks for replying. I'm thinking of housing it in a 50 gallon tank. 1) Do you feed live feed daily (snails, crayfish) or mix it up with frozen or dry food? 2) Lastly with all the meat the fish is eating, have you ever dewormed the fish?
@pattys_aquatics
@pattys_aquatics 4 күн бұрын
@@aatif_mohd just keep in mind they can get 18” and if mine had gotten bigger I would have had to upgrade to a bigger tank. I feed snails almost daily or every other, otherwise I feed frozen raw shrimp and frozen clam in a half shell. I feed crayfish occasionally. I dewormed it when I first got it, I highly recommend that. I haven’t since but it’s not a terrible idea to do occasionally.

Also don't put another Oscar in or there will be a definite territory dispute which comes with digging. I think Oscar the Grouch or Sully would be good names LOL. I had an African Cichlid tank with mollies and spiny eels. It full of large lava rock with blue green algae all over the rocks. It had black sand and it was my most memorable tanks. The mollies survived but didn't grow in number, and the spiny eels came to the top and ate bloodworms out of my hand. The cichlids reproduced of course and it was an awesome tank even though everyone told me I couldn't keep those fish together.

I would love to see you buld the Oscar a 220 dirted tank and get a second Oscar. Then you can have Sparkles and Oscar the grouch 😁 looking forward to the update videos. My Oscar's destroyed their plants when they got to around 8 inches, deeper substrate, and a larger root system type plant likely would have curbed that a little for me. There are also some fairly large Cory's that could live with adult Oscar's as well as some plecos like Ranger Plecos, if you're looking for more than just the Oscar in the tank.
