Hello Jordan! I have a pressing question: Does the Lumix S5 focus bracketing work with the Sigma MC 21 adapter? I want to use the Canon EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM lens with the S5, but I was told it will disable the focus bracketing. Focus bracketing is a must-have for me. Could you please check it?

Flip out screen okay for vloggers. This is a pro camera

Get the S5 if you want the horrible vlog scene. This screen is much better for photography stills: it tilts inwards so you can get low angles in portrait orientation. This camera is more stills oriented.

I think I could understand rocket science if you did a KZfaq video on it! Can't fault this explanation, you've made it so easy to understand 🙏 Pleaaasee make a video on oversampling, that's another thing boggling my brain!

good video. but the lower the bitdepth you film in the more important to use log. log profile helps reveal details in darker areas by expanding the wave form there so that it can be spread out over more of the quantization levels. if you film in 8bit you will have fewer quantization levels overall and this also in the shadows, so it’s even more important to film in log to capture shadow details.

How can you call something the "best" unless you've personally tested every light on the market, and that would be a dubious claim. So, unless you have, you're unqualified to to say it's the "best." And misleading your viewers.

Simply a title to catch your attention, I guess! Although, I can guarantee that at least 50% of video reviews include the word 'best' in their videos, regardless of the channel's experience in that field.

The horizontally tilting screen is useful for two things: tripod mounted interviews, and low line vertical shooting. You can check interview framing with the camera on your left. A tilting screen lets you see it much more easily when shooting portrait orientation images from lower down.

I have an S5 but I have been thinking of getting a S1 because it does not have a flip screen. My camera before the S5 was a Fuji Xh-1 which I miss and highly recommend but I wanted fullframe. I really mostly just do photography. Still debating...

Thanks for the BTS! Awesome video. Really well done. I am curious what kind of autofocus or focusing solution you used. You mentioned at least one shot you pulled a manual spot to focus on. Did you have dynamic focus, or did you do everything manually?
@JordanLeeVideo
@JordanLeeVideo 4 ай бұрын
Everything was manual on this shoot. The S1's AF is definitely not reliable enough for me. But I also made sure I was choreographing the movement of me with the on-screen talent as a starting point, with the hope of getting a good take sooner rather than later.

Thank you for a great video. I am new to all of this. I am actually after lighting for stills studio photography (possibly some outdoor use). I am looking at this as an alternative to flash. Can you tell me if you think that these would be a good way to go for this type of work please?
@JordanLeeVideo
@JordanLeeVideo 4 ай бұрын
I'm not too sure if it would be the perfect light for photography. For general studio portraits, absolutely, due to only needing a shutter angle of around 1/125. However, you wouldn't notice the power output if outdoors, and may be limited for photography requiring a higher shutter (product, action) if your camera is limited on low-light capability

A question would be if you use say a battery that connects to the dc in (lipo with high discharged rate used in rc cars for example) to power up the panel through the dc in socket would it still have the power limitation? As these batteries can be found in several capacities I strongly believe its a much better option which can increase your operation and probably be a cheaper option. Nevertheless great review. Am leaning towards getting them as a fill light for events to light dancefloor etc. Do you think it's up to the task? Am planning to get three of them.

Interesting. I will need to shoot with the 1080p 8 bit rate for my short film (aimed mainly at KZfaq), because anything higher will murder my laptop, am thinking of using Cinelike-D with slight tweaks, such as reduced contrast. Thoughts?

Sorry for only just responding! Yeah absolutely, that would have worked, but there's always the option to transcode/proxy your footage to give your laptop some breathing space when editing. Hope the short film went well!

If you do not know how grade 8-bit flat images DO make you an insignificant adviser. It is not easy but possible to avoid any noise in shadows and get pleasing color gradations.
