Correction: They are not inept, the discussion does not spend time on internality which is not understood, intuition and reason are two very different modes of knowing.

What is missing here is that science can only study externals not what is subjective which is equally real and totally unknown such as consciousness. That is the flaw in this discussion which makes it incomplete and why those participating in the discussion are inept.

Religion, consciousness, cannot be measured by science, it cannot be objectively tested. Hence the hard problem of consciousness.

God is and is not the universe. He is the universe or universes because he all there is. However, he is transcendent to the universe so if it, or all universes ended, that does not mean that God ends as he is infinite and so, likely, is the universe in some form or other, manifest or not manifest.
