How about putting concrete in the seat post to strengthen the post to keep it from bending, has anyone done this and did it work out?

0:48 the old derailleur are much more batter because it have screw on it that allowed you to removed the derailleur without cutting or removing the chain. Now days derailleur just like disposable even tho it was an expansive barand still it was all stamped it feels cheap

One problem I have with the grip shifter on the right side is that the rotating part of the grip shifter cannot be separated from the fixed part of the shifter although I rotated and pulled the gript part of the shifter many times. Another problem I have with the grip shifter on the left side is that although I could separate the grip pat, it cannot be put back completely. The fixed part of the grip shifter is away from the rotating part by about 2mm. Although the shifter works, the rotating part must be pressed by the fixed part of the shifter and the handle bar grip.

It is easier to move the brake lever and the grip shifter by loosening bolts rather than removing or loosening the handle bar grip.

Without that shim in the stem I would be terrified to clamp a threadless stem onto threads directly. Seems like a bad idea.

Hi @RJTheBikeGuy! The thumbnail for this video appears on Google and links to a different video on a different KZfaq channel. If you Google, "what's the difference between 3 piece crankset and 2 piece" and go to images, the 4th image is your thumbnail. However it links to someone's else's video. Thought you should know.

Thanks for sharing, I've recently bought a used cannondale trial 7 2015 model, black with green and white stickers. It's a 29er. It's got the suntour xcr forks, no locker. They are very soft. I did think of swapping them out for a better fork but I have no idea what will fit. Thanks to your video I'm gona get a rebuild kit and see if I can stiffen them up and even add a lock out to them. I know it's a low spec bike but i feel it's a good place to begin

This is just great! Finally I get the answer I was looking for since a while: So _it is possible_ to change the old massive axe for a new modern one! Now I know I can update the hole drive train of my so beloved 25 year old steel frame, which was handmade to my personal specs. You can't imagine how happy your video made me, thanks!! (even my local bike shop couldn't tell me much about this upgrade)

My first suggestion would be to check the temperature of the room or your house. Two of my TV remotes were not working, or I needed to press hard several times. I had to reset the on/off. I changed batteries, cleaned inside and out. I have 4 TVs but didn't think to check the remotes. This was during a terrible heatwave. 90's and 100's My house was hot but bearable with floor fans. Temps and house went down to low 70's today. Bingo! Both remotes work fine. Maybe it was just coincidence?

I think it's not great that there is a little thinner left in the body hub. After using the thinner I suggest rinsing with water. Shake the part in a container with water. Change the water 2-3 times. The smell begins to disappear, Then I use a hair dryer to heat the free hub body a little (2-3 minutes) this removes all the humidity before re-greasing

Great video, one thing I’m confused about is why you dished the wheel instead of just putting 10mm of spacers on the drive side of the wheel. What am I missing?
