My pain is in a very specific spot however it can cause my whole leg to hurt, it’s on the outside of my leg a couple inches under my knee. I feel the pain the most when I squat down and then try to come up, it’s the second i take the weight off my leg that I feel a sharp pain in that specific spot and sometimes genuinely get stuck trying to come up,any suggestions?

This sounds more like an IT band-related pain than shin splints/stress fracture, but any time I hear pain with unweighting I start to consider an X-ray. You can try rolling out the top of your hip on a muscle called the Tensor fascia latae (don't roll your IT band though) and see if that helps. It also could be caused by the hamstring. If you search TFL Foam Rolling you should be able to find some good videos

My tendinopathy begin when I started walking after my hysterectomy last August. Can certain operations cause injuries?
@basecampclinic
@basecampclinic 9 күн бұрын
Hysterectomy can cause changes in hormone balance, which can change the tendon!

@@basecampclinic thank you for responding. I have always been active, and I almost wish I would not have chosen to have a hysterectomy with this AT pain. Do you know how I can rebalance my hormones??

@@lynngevity3724 you will need a good medical doctor or naturopath to work with! They can order blood work and help guide you through that process. It may not be an issue, but it is worth investigating

I have a spur on back of heel.. Played high level lacrosse my whole life and dealt with the pain coming and going.. a few times debilitating mid season.. now 46 yrs old... was playing fine still.. still higher level.. took a weird step back during a game and swore I tore my Achilles at the insertion point.. MRI revealed no tears according to docs.. but 3 months later, still trying to play and its excruciating .. some games I make it 15 minutes in.. other game 2 minutes in, and Im almost sidelined or running altered steps.. no clue what to do.. I do not want surgery yet to take out the Haglunds or spur.. as its very invasive...

Tough one. Haglands is a common incidental finding (present in asymptomatic people) and the spur was definitely there before that lacrosse game. A few possibilities: 1) the radiologists missed a partial tear on the MRI. 2) the injury aggravated the insertion point, which can be VERY painful with recurring pain, without having any damage. 3) there is nerve irritation masking as Achilles pain, which needs to be treated differently. If it was my Achilles, I would find a good rehab chiro near me and spend some serious time rehabbing ti before returning to play

Thank you for posting this. I think I have an anterior tibialis issue but was afraid it might be a stress fracture. This exercise showed no pain.

Should I do this if I tore my meniscus/mcl about 4 days ago

If you suspect a meniscus and MCL tear I recommend getting your knee assessed by a physio or sports chiro to determine what is appropriate

A classic! I think they are great, but they did not work for me. I had to use exercises that were harder and more specific to my activity, hence the exercises above.

Very painful to even bend one leg i cant even hop😭i got a xray done yesterday and they said everything is normal but i been having this pain for 2 weeks and i started track conditioning a month ago. Pain in both legs even worse on the left and its only getting worse especially since i worked my legs in the gym. even when im just laying down the pain is unbearable. Should i get another xray done or is it just severe case of shin splints?

Sounds like you need an in-person assessment from a good sports physio or chiro. They will be able to tell you if you need more imaging

i had a slight fibula fracture on my bone( a crack) during last year october, i took around 6-8 weeks off and then returned to my usual sport but realised every time i ran my fibula would hurt and up until this day i’ve been running with the pain. I’ve been taking an anti inflammatory tablets and vitamins D for around 3 weeks now and nothing helps but i really want to continue with my sport.I also took another X-ray they said nothing is wrong with my leg.

Hey, I had a tibia stress fracture 5 years ago and after 12 weeks off (cast +crutches 🤮) I was allowed to run again. The most important thing is to start slow - and I mean really really slow. Check out Maffetone Method or Run-walk-run - sounds boring, feels absolutely ridiculous but is so effective! Oh, and btw, I still feel that fracture sometimes and have to dial back training, but on the other hand I'm able to run ultramarathons... You gotta be patient 😅 good luck to you ☘️

i've tried this even tho im 210lbs, no pain even tho i barely lifted off the ground. i do experience pain in my outer lower leg above the anlle when i run, not even 1km and it hurts. thi happened first on my right leg, then after healing it happened on my left leg on the day of my 10km run then on the same run after 500m more the right leg also has pain

Less likely a stress fracture then, if the pain is mild and during take off. Sounds like early shin splints (medial tibial stress syndrome) If it bothers you while running or playing sports it is worth getting it checked out by a qualified clinical professional. Shoot me a message and I can help you find someone near you: [email protected]
