This video is going to be about my initial gut instinct wildcard trying to jam in 3 Spurs and 3 Chelsea players, and how I’m seriously considering going with only 1 or 2 Spurs and potentially dropping Salah for the run in.
My FPL advice is to always try to consider as many different strategies, tactics, tips & tool usage from a diverse range of experienced FPL managers before making each decision during the fantasy premier league season. There are many gameweeks to play and many a gameweek to be won by a unique technique or strategy from a plethora of options put forward by considered, technical managers.

I'm hoping the next few matches give us some more information. While you say Jackson has been good, I watched the FA Cup match and Jackson was easily Man City's best player on the day, he was absolutely woeful, missing every chance he got. He's only looked decent in link up against a Everton side on an off-day. I'm leaning towards Hojlund, Pedro or Alvarez. Figuring out the third striker spot is the key to picking the rest of the wildcard I firmly believe.
@YGOWales
@YGOWales Ай бұрын
I'm also very likely to drop Salah and Saka, and keep Gabriel as my only single weeker. I wish I had a good enough team to bench boost in 34 as I would have happily kept 3 single weekers otherwise.
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
 @YGOWales I didn’t catch the FA Cup match, but I’m not surprised that he had an off day. Jackson’s biggest issue is the top 3 inches, if he can keep his emotions in check he could swing back to playing some decent football, but he will probably flip flop about as he loses his temper while his football, and the teams cohesion, will suffer as a result. But with the number of fixtures available, I think it’s too much of a gamble to go against him in the hopes that he doesn’t click at all for the remainder of the matches. He's got it in the locker, surely he can keep himself calm and focussed for a couple of fixtures right? I did briefly contemplate Pedro when I was thinking I might go against Jackson, but I haven’t watched much of Brighton lately so I’m flying a bit blind there. Hojlund has no service, and I think Alvarez is the most likely City attacker to be rotated with Bernardo Silva / Kovacic. This is also why I’ve kind of landed at Jackson, the other options all have worrying drawbacks.
@YGOWales
@YGOWales Ай бұрын
@@GKneeIssYT I agree with everything there. It will take additional team injuries mid week to make Alvarez or Pedro more appealing. It may just be me being a bit sceptical as a Chelsea fan but the thing to watch out with Jackson is while Poch says he supports him and says he's his only fit striker he may lose patience if he puts in another poor performance vs Arsenal tonight, and Jackson might find himself playing 3 of those 5 games (week 35-36-37). It's equally possible he might not even start and opt to go more bodies in midfield instead, with one of the midfielders pushing forward.
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
@@YGOWales It’s pretty tough to say what Pochettino will do but we’ll be able to draw some conclusions from the team sheet against Arsenal. If Jackson is still starting up front against Arsenal despite the accumulation of yellow cards, the fact that not too long ago Poch told the media that he’d had a word with Jackson about the yellows and yet Jackson went and got a yellow for dissent in the fixture that week, getting yellow carded from the bench, and now the penalty incident, it’s quite the mountain of issues that have accumulated. So if he’s starting after all of that, I don’t think Jackson is likely to get dropped before the end of the season as it must not be something that Pochettino is worrying about. Perhaps Pochettino is really just out of options. Nkunku hasn’t played in ages, but Sterling has been available and could play. Having watched Nkunku for a couple of games once he came back from his first injury, I didn’t see anything special. And Sterling hasn’t been firing for a while. Palmer is also way more influential in midfield, so I doubt Pochettino will want to sacrifice Palmer’s link up play in order to play him up front and bench Jackson. So, does he play a misfiring Sterling, an unfit Nkunku who looked average, or an angry Jackson who’s scoring goals and assisting Palmer?

Hey Steve, great to see a video from you early in the week. Also on wc35, and am right there with you. What a head scratcher. Plan is indeed to sell Salah but haven't been able to push the button just yet. Think most wc35 teams will be similar but as always I'm keen some left field picks. At this point I'm seeing if I can squeeze in TAA, BWhite, and leave enough money itb to upgrade Schar to Trippier if he returns in time for dgw37. Beyond that a pretty similar WC team to most. Love the shout of KDB and am planning to include him in the spot where many have Bruno atm. Am unconvinced by NJackson and wondering what to do with that spot, a few tempting options out there but no one is an obvious choice yet. Chelsea and Tottenham both look fried and out of form so hard to figure out if dgw35 is a trap. A double double is hard to resist but both teams are looking on the beach apart from Palmer (even Son is looking disinterested out of form atm). Good luck with the WC. Fun part of the season, let's hope for some chunky green arrows 🟩🔼💪

Watching that City game made me push the eject button on Salah, just watch him turn it around for the final 4 gameweeks and punish all of us late wildcarders who abandon him 😅. I released my wildcard team video today, it’s got a couple of caveats pending injury news but mostly all locked in and relatively differential. I’ve got TAA in at the moment (might be Porro come deadline), KDB & Foden, a plan for Trippier and no Jackson. Quite a different wildcard to where I started really. 😂 Chelsea & Spurs are a bit trappy, but I don’t see any decent alternatives so I’m punting on the extra fixtures. Son is in yes, but he’s in for cover, not because Spurs are playing particularly well. Son only needs one or two shots though, so I’m happy to hold him. Good luck for your WC too mate, may we both get big greens!

I'm seriously considering Salah >> KdB in a -4 with Isak & Jackson in for Darwin & Semenyo . Maybe even a -8 adding Saliba >> Porro if he's fit? No more chips for me!
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Tough choices. If the only way you can fund Isak & Jackson is through selling Salah for a hit, and you think KDB starts this gameweek and are pretty sure he’s going to continue starting for the rest of the matches, then I think this is a hit worth taking. Fair warning though, going against Salah could totally backfire. I don’t think I’d buy Porro for a hit, especially not for Saliba who could easily outscore Porro this week. Maybe delay that move until GW37?

Real pros don't push the WC button yet, just before the deadline so the transfers count in price changes ;). I'm also mulling the same question: Keep Salah/Saka or buy Son/Foden. Also tempted to buy Watkins back instead of the unsecure minutes of Isak in dgw37 with Wilson likely to start the second game. You could get Vicario as a third Spurs player.. Good luck with your WC, after my disaster gw34 feels like going a bit different with Bruno and Garnacho.
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Hahaha, now that’s a l33t hack of the system! 💪🕶 I'm starting to lean towards dropping Salah for KDB, and I'm still mulling over whether to hold Saka or not. Yes you're right, Wilson could be a spanner in the works, but I think this Sheffield United fixture is worth a future transfer if Isak’s minutes become an issue. Vicario may end up in my team as I might end up holding Gusto as he's cheap and attacking, but that'll mean I’ll have to drop Petrovic and will likely own Vicario as a result of wanting a doubler. But this double for Spurs is defensively horrible and they have Udogie out and maybe Porro too, so what am I really expecting? A fluke clean sheet I guess, or maybe a penalty save? Bruno & Garnacho will probably get investment due to the immediate fixtures and because they have a double, but I’m choosing them as the best players/team to go against in order to hunt rank.

I honestly think you are overlooking Bruno. I know man U are terrible but Bruno is in great form and they could lose every game and he will pick up 5+ points regardless. I wasted my chips except bench boost early doors so navigating the run in with great difficulty. I'm holding porro just because he's there but I agree more than son at spurs is too much. Could possibly bring vicario in as a planned transfer for 37 with Burnley in the double and then shef U in 38. I'm holding Pickford so he's my bench boost keeper against shef U in gw37. City's midfield is a mine field. Foden looks off it when kdb starts.
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Hmmmm, yeah, I’d push back a bit on Bruno being in great form. He has generated some returns of late, but a lucky penalty, lucky due to the fact that United have hardly worked their way into the box lately, and a misplaced pass by the opposition to score from halfway isn’t really sustainable. I admire the attempt of executing an early deployment of the chips. Unfortunately, it is very hard to nail and usually poses some tough compromises at the end of the season which it sounds like you're in the midst of. The lack of defensive options might be the catalyst for me bringing in someone like Porro or Udogie if either are deemed fit, but I wouldn’t be holding my breath on them. The alternative options aren’t great either though, so we’re all gambling on less than desirable assets. City’s midfield could well be a minefield. But, as a hypothetical, if KDB plays 70+ minutes every fixture I think he outscores most of the midfield options, including Salah. It’s all about how likely his chances are to continue starting and whether it’s worth the gamble. 🎲
@Matty-gl1xq
@Matty-gl1xq Ай бұрын
Bruno has had 1 blank in his last 7 including 2 double digit hauls. I just think as poor as man U are he's always popping up in the right spot. And you can get a penalty in any game. My chip strategy has been nothing short of horrendous this year 🤣. First time I've not stuck to the template usage. It has not paid off. My other concern with city is (and I don't think this will happen) if they've the league wrapped up by 37 then pep roulette goes into overdrive and you may be booking in another transfer. Another positive for Bruno. Ten hag won't rest him regardless of fa cup ect. I would 100% agree that kdb outscores Salah with enough minutes though. I captained eze this week fully expecting Salah and saka to continue their poor form. Both will be leaving my team in a planned double transfer to Gordon and son for 35. With an additional 4 point hit to bring isak in for Darwin. Rolling 1 transfer in the double didn't sit well with me but on 62 with 11 still to play so hopefully it's paid off.
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
@@Matty-gl1xq Bruno has had some very lucky goals recently making his run of returns somewhat deceptive. He’s got skills though, so yes he can still score a worldy and will often try, but United can just as easily capitulate and crumble leaving him floating about deep in midfield with speculative efforts from far out to artificially prop up his xG. He does sink his pens though, and Garnacho/Rashford might earn him one or two. Nothing short of horrendous. 😂 Oh dear, sounds like a rough season. 🙈 I feel for ya mate, that was me last year! If City have the league wrapped up early then yeah I will be overinvested in their assets, hopefully they score enough while the title is still up for grabs and that Arsenal push them to the final day. I actually hope Arsenal win it, I think Arteta’s style allows for a bit more freedom and flair. Nice work on the Eze captaincy, you must’ve smashed GW34! 💪

@@GKneeIssYT yeah I know what you mean but i personally see it as him in form and taking his chances. Although after last night's city game my suggestion that Foden struggles when kdb plays is out of the window 😅 definitely a formidable duo to have alongside son, Palmer and Gordon. My midfield will be the same with kdb potentially being Bruno. Although I'd be surprised if the other 4 aren't in most teams now. Yeah had a really bad year. I just had multiple injuries each game week from the very start so that influenced my chip strategy and it didn't pay off. 133 this week though and a huge green arrow so hopefully finish strong. Eze, mateta, branthwaite and Pickford the star performers. All but confirmed my mini league victory too so that's nice.

Yet to watch the video Steve but I've had it with Salah this season. And Saka tbh. Rotation, blanks, early subs. In absence of WC, I'll be bringing in Gordon & Bruno and holding onto Foden, Palmer and Son. No FH for me in current ganeweek and sitting on 49 with Foden, Isak and 9 doublers to play. Captained Saka 😢
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Yeah Salah hasn’t been impressing of late, the gamble is whether that lasts until the end of the season or if he turns it back on for the run in. 🎲 He’s the type of player that can haul in any game, and likely to be owned heavily enough where any points he gets will hurt. ☠ 49 is a solid start to the week and plenty still to play, very nice. 💪 Unlucky on the Saka captaincy, I admire the selection. It hasn't You’re ahead of basically everyone at the minute given Salah's EO is 160%. I’m avoiding United completely on my wildcard, they’ve been a shambles for a while and I don't see them turning it around. Bruno’s recent returns have been jammy, a penalty when they're hardly in the box and a shot from halfway with the keeper out of position was extremely lucky and against the run of play. Although he might continue to return, I just can't justify investing into a team I've watched play so poorly for so long.

@@slavicdude1016 I’m sure there will be single gameweek players that will do better than double gameweekers, probably even better than some of the popular picks. For example, I can see someone like Watkins continuing to return while other popular picks like Jackson, Hojlund and Pedro could easily disappoint. I’m not sure what to expect from Chelsea either, but I think they’ve been more consistently threatening compared to say Spurs. I’m in agreement, I think Isak and Gordon will probably outscore Jackson and Maddison, unless of course if Wilson starts taking significant minutes off Isak, but I think this is probably less likely. Wilson is 32 and has been injured for 10 weeks now, so I’m pretty sure Howe will be prioritising Isak given he’s young and going to be the future main man.

Vicario, Petrovic, Gusto, Porro (if fit), Trippier, Gvardiol, Dalot KDB, Son, Maddison, Palmer, Gordon Joao Pedro (last sub that's on pens and passes eye test, but iffy mins), Haaland, Isak I think Jackson should be in nobody's team with his disgraceful finishing. This squad, if you can afford it, is really differential and has 5 attacking fullbacks on defense, as well as full coverage of doublers and teams w good fixtures. Edit: too many spurs, so perhaps replace Porro with a van Hecke or someone else if he's unfit, or Maddison for a Gross, but that seems less exciting imo as you'll need to play either him or Pedro each week, and ideally you play just 3 defenders.
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Hahahahaha, yes, Jackson's finishing has definitely been all over the place this season. 🙈 It seems to fluctuate with his emotions. Interesting team. If you have Vicario & Petrovic you’ll have to bench a doubler this gameweek which I’m not sure you’re happy with or not? However, If I end up with Vicario in my squad I’m not even sure I’ll play him this week though, so perhaps this is by design. I’m not going to be owning Dalot, too many shots being conceded and United are not cohesively attacking so Dalot’s attacking threat is super limited. Trippier is a huge differential shout if he’s fit, and I might use some Salah money there. Pretty solid team overall!

Still a lot of unknowns which is annoying for us on WC. If Haaland is out for a while... Salah is sellable... could be swimming in money but maybe need to book Haaland in for 37. Fitting Richarlison into the midfield is pretty tough, especially if you’re holding Son too. Doubling up on the Spurs attack is very much in the hopes that Spurs start to fire again as a team. I could probably justify Porro or Udogie on a wildcard as they will come with attacking threat alongside their slim chances of clean sheets, but both are injured and I’m unsure how severe each injury is.
