Aluminum is known to ablate terribly. Its the oxide layer that rubs off both pieces... From what i have heard... You can do nuckle plated aluminum...

Super cheap alternative would be to wrap an insert in Teflon tape (plumbers' seal tape), and you'd have to renew it frequently... cool that you have a solid piece!

Well, you can glue PTFE. But might be problematic to glue it to aluminium with that amount of mechanical stress.

The quality of the bottle degrades over time and especially when exposed to sunlight. There is a reason why bottled water has expiry date. It's not the water that gets bad, but the plastic bottle, and the shelf life of said bottle gets much shorter when exposed to sunlight.
