10.7 ounces for men's size 9? Why so heavy? I think the Tecton X 2.5 released on limited supply at Western States was less than 9 ounces. That's the shoe that we actually want.

As part of my first couple ASICS shoes, this is the best pair shoes I've ever owned, including Nikes, Pumas and Adidas that I've had.

in a 5k race, how will the dragonfly 2 feel like when compares to the vaporfly 3? iam right when i expect more stiffness, less bounce, more propulsiveness from the dragonfly?

X2 was good for performance (not great, think I could have gotten just as good for $100 less) but the interior started to develop holes 200km in. How can the durability of the shoe be trusted. Stick with Norda, 600km and still going, while still providing great ultra comfort.

Lighter Boost is called PWRRUN PB/HG... Saucony took over the beaded TPU tech (Adidas too stubborn to change from the OG UBs). Stick with Lightstrike pro - nothing beats that... yet.

For those interested in seeing the film, "The Harriers" that Mr. Scobey talks about. I've found it here on KZfaq: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eaxyZrOApqm4pKM.html Just watched for the first time since seeing it in the mid-70's, as a CC runner for Arcata High. What a flood of memories it brought back!

I have a copy of "How They Train" by Fred Wild form the 1970s that contains details of Bill's training. Very interesting stuff! But I have read that some runners deny that the detailed schedules in this book actually came from them and are not accurate. Wonder if Bill actually provided Wilt with the information and if the schedule is an accurate account of the training Bill really did?

lol, they are just putting less pellets in the mold which has always been bouncier and softer, you can tell by the pellet size, they do this on lifestyle and retro shoes with boost all the time going to go flat fast, they already did all this crap when boost first came out, pretending it's new is dumb

Ultraboost decline in quality in the last 2 iterations, complaints in falling apart, and by todays standard its not the softest anymore. The first 2 generations were beautiful classic designed shoes, with comfort in mind, that's why I still love mine and cherish them for 8 years now 2nd generation triple white. If Adidas can retain these properties in the newest generation, and improve the build quality I'm in! If Adidas can, they can go toe to toe with Asics and their Nimbus shoes and Nike invincible 3. if they can keep the design aesthetics close to the ultra boost DNA you have a shoe not only for runners but for fashion, workers and all sorts of applications beyond just performance. That should be the focus! Comfort, recovery runs, aesthetics, and the ultra boost DNA. Keep the performance for other shoe models. I love wear ultra boosts when travelling, they are in my opinion more elevated than the run of the mill utilitarian running shoe. You want to wear any shoe in this category which is comfortable to wear to go about through airports but also when you enter the business lounge you don't look like a halfwit who arrived at the airport straight after his run, as some people look like that. Which means I would wear these ultra boosts as a travel shoe first! And when I have to pack light for a short haul business trip I can use them for a run and be okay instead of packing another pair just for running. As for the running aspect, I'm not familiar with the Adidas running shoes, I went Asics because they had the Nimbus and that became my recovery run shoes, the Superblast is my everyday shoe, and have the meta speed sky carbon shoes for races and speed works. If I had to jump onto Nike I would go for the invincible 3 for recovery and long run shoe, vapor fly 3 for speed and alpha fly for race. Adidas can use the ultra boost for running but with traditionally a large array of colour ways it's also good for fashion and urban wear. Good for people in the service industry having to stand on their feet for hours on end. But ultra boosts are not running shoes. Especially in 2024 they aren't. More boost wasn't improving the shoe nor did it improve its cushioned properties. If they increase its stack it will be running focused, but I advice to be more relaxed, do the extra foam but not in the ugly way Adidas did with the lat few ultra boost models. Not all people are heel strikers and you do want foam under your front foot for that bounce. Basically the last ultra boost sucks! they were ugly, and all the foam in the back wasn't the answer.

Boost at under 10 oz. is good. They could still probably drop more weight because it still has a lot of big overlays. I had the original Energy Boost back in 2013 (?) and the shoe was a game changer back then. It felt so bouncy and really set off this arms race of high tech foams that we have all benefitted from.
