Thinking of buying a couple of extra ATVs to put at different locations for this. Do I understand it right that also the older Apple TV HD (non-4K) with that bad touchpad remote works with tvOS 17 and therefore works with Tailscale? That would be great as those are practically free on the used market. 👍

Installed exit node on Truenas, but can’t access via phone outside home network. Is it possible to advertise ip as x.x.x.13/24?(13 is my truenas scale).

When I activate Tailscale Proxy and restart, the addon is blocked and stops. Open WEB UI cannot be opened, the message appears "The add-on seems to not be ready, it might still be starting. Do you want to try again?" and 2 options No and Retry. It only works if I cancel Tasicale Proxy and start.

Hi, thank you for the tutorial! But I'm having trouble setting up a locally hosted URL (Windows 11) to be able to be accessed via my phone (or any other device connected to Tailscale). I'm running the Text Generator Web UI (Ooobabooga) which generates a local URL equal to 127.0.0.1:7860. If my phone is connected to the same wifi, I can access the Wen UI via the URL 192.168.2.162:7860 and not 127.0.0.1:7860 (I don't know why, just works =D). But I'm not getting how I should set this up onto Tailscale. I already added both my Desktop and iPhone to Tailscale's Machine. But couldn't figure out the correct Address URL to use, or if I need to configure anything else, like the subnet router, as described in your site: tailscale up --advertise-routes=192.168.0.0/24,192.168.1.0/24. But I don't know what address I should replace 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 for.

Hello, I managed to install Tailscale and using it successfully as a tunnel for my home assistaint, the thing is that I'm installing both home assistant and Tailscale as a docker containers so not as an add-on and accordingly I can't do the step of enabling Tailscale as a proxy in 5:25, maybe I'm missing something but I need help to set this in docker container implementation Currently I can access home assistant using http but with HTTPs it doesn't reach it.

I have a machine which is connected to tailscale, it has few applications running in it, when i ssh into the device the tailscale works for the person using the device, as soon as I close my terminal the tailscale goes down to him, what could be the root cause and solution for it

Man I am so confused... I got to the point that I have Tailscale running on my server, laptop, and phone. All 3 are displaying in the Machines page of the admin console and showing connected. But beyond that, I don't get how to set up a remote NAS. My NAS volume is set up on the server running Windows Server 2016. Since before Tailscale, I can access the NAS volume from all my devices when on network via both ethernet and Wi-Fi with any file browser, and on my Windows devices I have the NAS volume mapped as a network drive. But of course when I leave my network area, I can't access the drive over the internet. So that's why I am trying to use Tailscale but I don't have a web interface for my Windows Server 2016 NAS so I get lost on that part of this video :(

Questions: 1. I'm not open to Apple, Google, or Microsoft being an identity provider. We use 1Password, which has also been a passkey provider, and thus appears to be an option with Tailscale. It is easy to recover with the printed-off key that you get at the start, and doesn't tie me to be constantly logged in to any of those services. Do you see any issues or thoughts with using 1Password? 2. I have one asset that is Windows 11 machine, in a data center, with a single public IP address, e.g. no LAN. Can that be included with SSO as part of a flat Tailscale network? 3. For any LANs, I would assume that Tailscale would be transparent to all LAN users so their logins, private IPs, and access will remain unaffected unless they log into Tailscale?

Any plans to add Ubiquiti UDM PRO (SE) natively integration? 👀

maybe its just me but I can't find the ACL json file that you mentioned would be available in links provided? The tagging option wasn't immediately enabled for me because that section of the Access Controls wasn't yet configured or uncommented. But fortunately there was a helpful link to the ACLs, right next to the greyed out tag button which made that super intuitive. 👍
