Pay lakes with giant catfish around 100 lbs or more think any big catfish you catch in them catch n release but to keep them alive need a big water fountain

They're not biting because I done sore lipped em all over the weekend! Oh yeah!

Why is it they always bite on the strangest stuff during spawn and none of their regular diet used for bait works? It’s like cherry chicken central right now here in Ohio. Crazy. Thanks for all you do for us Dieter! We all appreciate you brother. Tight Lines.

I use spinners because Ive had them for quite awhile and see no point in spending the money to replace good working reels. Ive caught 50 - 100 lb cats, stingrays, sharks, drum, etc on my spinners and not once in 20 years have I had to fix a rats nest 😇

Depends on the lake. I caught fish dragging in 20-30 ft on lake Moultrie this past weekend.

When you hear someone say the catfish are "down" it doesn't mean they are deep. It means they are spawning and its time to catch crappie.

Use a 36VDC 60" shaft 115 lb thrust Ulterra on my charter boat. Problems with my Ulterra include (from worst to least) include: 1. Trolling motor will not stow. Why: Batteries get a little low after dragging with a drift sock for several hours or fishing for skipjack spot-locked below a high flow dam. Motor keeps on chugging, but then won't stow. 15 minutes later, (remove cover, remove plastic lock tab, release the motor deploy cam, raise motor, and) remove motor from boat then I can go back to the boat ramp. Sucks, especially with clients on board. Then you have to charge the batteries, reinstall cam (pain in the butt), recalibrate trim, reinstall cover. 2. Remote died, supposed to be waterproof, got into some rain, never worked again, did the whole put it in a bag of rice thing, nada. $200 Fortunately had the foot switch with me. Number 1 is the worst. My last resort work around: I am keeping 3 cheapo Harbor Freight jump starters ($200) with me in case the batteries get low. This will be my last auto deploy trolling motor. I have 3 Goldenmate lithium 100Ah batteries... one of them died won't take a charge, Goldenmate refused to honor warranty, and they are definitely NOT 100Ah. All other Minn Kotas are great.

I learned about the catfish spawn when I started catching them on jigs around cover like logs, stumps etc. I was in a feeder river off the main lake and I turned it into a tool in my arsenal and it worked more often than not. I’m guessing bed guarding?

Short sweet to the point. It’s spawn time and if you don’t have a boat. You are lucky to land 10 plus pounders. Hell you’ll probably only catch females for a while.

I like spinning reals, but I do most of my fishing by dragging and I like to know how far out my baits are. I run baits 125 to 140 ft out so until they make a spinning reel with a line counter…I’ll stick with bait casters that have a line counter. Just my preference. The biggest hardest pulling thing I’ve ever caught was a stingray and it was on a spinning reel.

Hey Dieter I used this rig this weekend. I was sceptical because of a very strong current. No current last weekend so can't really say. I caught catfish with it so I'm looking forward to trying it when the current is back.
