@@jamesisaacson6379 the only way to get off the road to hell is to repent of your sins. Purgatory is for the souls already saved. Think of it this way - a child kicks a football and it smashes the neighbours window. The child goes to the neighbour repentant and asking for forgiveness which the neighbour does but that doesn’t fix the broken window so the reparation is still required for the window to be fixed even though the neighbour forgave the child. It’s the same when we sin - God has forgiven us but the temporal punishment is still due because we have caused a blemish in our soul and we are told nothing unholy can enter heaven. Purgatory isn’t a punishment it is a state where the saved are purified so they may enter heaven unblemished

You've missed the point entirely. If they are "allegories" and "myths", your will quickly convince yourself there's a far better use of your time. But you will hurry to Mass if you believe Jesus did not lie when he said "this is My Body, given up for you", "this is my Blood, the Blood of the New Covenant, which has been shed for the forgiveness of the sins of many", and "unless you eat of My Flesh and drink of My Blood, you have no life in you". As for better educated, I think not. Better indoctrinated and socialised into a society hostile to the Christian message after 13 compulsory years of schooling, yes. But better educated, no. People can't add and subtract without their phone. Let alone do long division. As for scientific education being better, and therefore them understanding the world better and being less susceptible to being bullshitted? Not only do I don't see evidence that is the case, I see much evidence to the contrary. The majority of people can't even give an adequate description of how a flushing toilet operates. They cannot follow the simplest physical problem or argument, made using primary school level mathematics. And it is now a majority viewpoint that a man can become pregnant. Actually if you dare disagree with that last proposition you can be fined or gaoled in many jurisdictions including Canada or the United Kingdom.

I respectfully have to disagree with you. The priest called her to repent and let God decide what He would do. This has been my experience too, I yield to God’s plan for me. He knows us (He made us) best.

The idea of having another crack at finishing her mission in life before death was put inside her mind by God. She should have followed her God given intuition and not seek advice from a goody goody priest. Just because he is called "priest" it don't mean shit.
