Personally, I like having both. One fan can pull air in and the other can push air out, creating a nice flow throughout the van. Also one is over the kitchen area when I cook and the other over the bed.

so as I previously commented the level to which we both identically approached the van builds is beyond insane, I didn't do video but I did to pics.....i'm shocked, to find someone that saw the way to insulate and do a build this way, the only thing I can , ok maybe I can add more than 1 thing, but look into the Flettner fans, saw one in London and I was like OMG this is brilliant, free wind powered ventilation, beyond that i've been experimenting with the Peltier way of cooling/heating that with solar is free AC/Heat and would take a van build beyond the next level
@LaurenLawlissКүн бұрын
Sounds like an interesting fan! I have a heater and personally don’t need an AC. Good luck on the rest of your build.

i'm at a loss, you are literally doing everything I did .... our mindset is so nearly identical and to me brilliant ... i'm at a complete loss as I did these things back in 2017 before taking off on the most hilarious road trip as at the last second while hitting refresh for the 100th time got the Fest Passport and leaft for an 8 day trip and didn't come back till 104 days later

The one in the front you didnt use the adapter? Do you use the window weld or the butyl tape on the bottom of the flange to attach it to the roof?
@LaurenLawlissКүн бұрын
Correct. No adapter is needed for fans installed in that flat section of the roof. I used butyl tape under the flange and 3M Window Weld for the back adapter 😁

did the van life in 2017, designed and build of my van including insulation and water proofing and you are the 1st person that did not ignore the realities of insulation and what it brings to the game, the only thing you did not mention but I found to be a significant addition is a Flettner fan, that is the one thing I did not do and wish I did because of it being self powered, one thing you might add down the road I found after a lot of experimenting is making your own AC/Heat devices based of Peltier ... the cost is so low and 100% can be solar powered is insane, that most van build people totally gloss over and ignore insulation is beyond ....... I did rigid foam board but the cracks and spaces it would not fit I used spray foam , as you say and explain quite well, there is not 1 perfect solution , my van did good (but knowing now what I know I would have been in heaven) was a life saver at Burning Man

Yes, the window I purchased has a slight curve to match up with the curve of the van, intentionally done by the manufacture for my make/model and year.
