Having no pauae button is a staple of Fromsoft. I feel like it adds to the experience because If you arent at a bonfire or site of grace, you have to be willing to contend with anything that gets thrown at you, be it invaders, hordes of enemies, or an unforseen distraction. Lastly, i think its insulting to even try to compare having a child to having a disability.

I would never use having a child as a disability but I get what she is saying in her video. I would say it’s an inconvenient circumstance that there isn’t a pause button when playing if you need to attend to your kid but it’s not a huge deal or a dealbreaker for me.

Yea I wouldn’t use the term disability at all as someone who has kids but I understand what she is saying. Having to attend to your kid immediately is different than your wife asking you to the mow the lawn because you don’t need to stop what you are doing to do that.

Yea if I play games it’s usually when my son is in bed or preoccupied because I know what gaming I’m getting into and will prepare for that. I get what she is saying but I wouldn’t say it’s a disability in any means.

Very simple answer to the "Is Elden Ring too hard" question. Listen closely. We can finally put this to rest after 14 years of regurgitation of the same BS over fromsoft games. If you think it's too hard, then it is too hard, don't play it. If you don't think it's too hard, then play it. If you want to be able to pause your game, don't play fromsoft games. My opinion will not affect your opinion nor will your opinion affect my opinion. It's subjective. If you don't enjoy a challenge and getting beat up over and over again you will not like this. If you do enjoy a challenge and getting beat up over and over again you will like this. If you enjoy being able to pause your game, you will not like this. Your experience is not my experience. The very fact that the debate rages on is proof that fromsoft has made a game that is actually pretty well balanced imo. Nobody would be fighting for it to be slightly easier or harder if it was demonstrably too easy or too hard.

The game is near perfect IMO. I think it’s well balanced and I trust Fromsoft to make any adjustments that are needed pre and post launch.

The way to squash the pause button topic. From Soft don't want it. If they did, they would have by now. They do listen to the community and patch some things based on that, but they haven't budged on the pause button. It hasn't happened and will not happen. Nough said.

It's like being angry at Chess because it’s too hard. Play something else; Chess isn’t for you then. That's such an entitled approach to games. And on the other hand, it’s like playing tag and your friends not stopping if you fall down and bump your head. That’s not a very friendly approach either.

Definitely agree. Games are meant for every player and that is fine. There are games that aren’t meant for me and I don’t go online upset because they aren’t tuned to my needs. I either try it and see if I like it or I already know it’s not for me. I don’t enjoy racing games so I usually avoid them.

Reacting to "disability" as if it is an insult is the issue with the language, not using the word in a way that makes perfect sense. Anything that prevents you from doing something or makes it more difficult to do something is a disability regardless of if it is a temporary or permanent condition. Everyone has disabilities at different points in their lives and that's fine.

there is no combat so no reason for pause, Unless we are going to add a pause button for all COD games and the first person shooters. Nope, you can't pause Fortnite in Battle Royale or Creative mode because it's an online multiplayer game. It would be better if it had Pause and easy mode just like for Souls games.

@@NohrScum those online interactions mean nothing to me. It is a “multiplayer function” but you can play the whole game without ever paying attention to an online interaction. So yeah, I should be able to hit menu and the game should pause. Those bosses, those are not online players. COD matches, duh you’re playing against 12 or more players. You can’t pause the game for all. The PVP is the core of COD multiplayer. Stupid troll messages in the ground is 90 percent of the online interaction in elder ring. So yeah o want a pause button and I want you guys to be able to ignore the pause button all you want. But “multiplayer” is not a legitimate excuse unless you do interact with other players. For example your range of travel in Elden ring is limited when you get another player to join you. Makes sense. Hey maybe also deactivate the pause button when you get another player to join you. Also makes sense. But I have no need, care, or interest in playing this game with others. So yeah I want my pause button.

If you go into your inventory. Push the button for help, then click on the tab that says menu explanation it pauses the game. Takes all of 3 seconds and viola, the game is paused.

So I think one of the things to consider about pause buttons is that having it be more accessible allows it to be active in situations that aren't ideal. For example, if your display cuts out, navigating a menu to get to a paused state is going to be rather difficult even if you have a general idea on how to do it.

I'd like to remind Nintendo fans that a lot of the games you think are first party games aren't. Smash Bros Ultimate was developed by Bandai and HAL Laboratory Mainline Pokemon is made by Game Freak Mainline Zelda is made by Nintendo but spin-offs are made externally Kirby is made by HAL Laboratory A lot of Mario games aren't made by Nintendo

Age of consent is 16 in Canada. Most of the clubs are 17yr old girls with fake ID anyways. Clearly you have never met a 17yr old girl if you think a 17yr old girls want to date 17yr old guys. If that 17yr old committed Murder in the US she would be charged as an adult. It is very clear that most people online have never been to a club or ever even talked to younger woman. Anybody, regardless of what job field they are in should be held accountable of these types of actions. It’s getting far too common these days. I feel the same way about all of the creep politicians out there that have done far worse but what if Doc didn’t get caught, what could have happened? If you want to continue to support him that’s all you but you can’t pick and choose who you support just because you like to watch his streams. Either be against it entirely or be a weirdo. He could have been messaging an attractive looking female who is chatting to him in a 18+ chat room and then found out eventually that she was underage and stopped messaging her right? Then why wouldn’t he say once I found out she was a minor then communication stopped. He didn’t say that. Also, that’s the same response every predator says. Watch any episode of how to catch a predator. Sometimes in life your idols disappoint you. It’s going to happen. This is a messy situation and hopefully one day those messages will be revealed. I was on the side of defending doc because I believe in innocent until proven guilty but he himself confirmed it.

Hey there. SE has released 50 games over the 4 years 13 of them have been ps exclusive 19 or them have been switch exclusive and 32 have been multiplat. SE has always been multiplat lol.

I’m mainly talking big AAA games here. They have a massive budget for FF16 and FF7 Rebirth with not a great return. Big AAA games from SE are coming to the Switch 2 and other platforms.

@@harrisonputnam Wait, SE just announced that thanks to ff16 and ff7 rebirth their "HD games" made them a profit... What are you talking about?... Not only that, SE and Sony only have a 6month exclusivity deal with all of their games yet they themselves decide not to release their games on the xbox we all know why. Games dont sale at all on the xbox and obviously if SE decided not to make those 2 games even on the PS4 then it's really clear why they didnt release them on the switch either.

SE literally said FF16, F7 Rebirth and Foamstars failed to meet their expectations. Can’t say why FF7 Remake isn’t on Xbox yet because it would sell a good amount. Either way SE is reevaluating their exclusive deals with PS and will bring their AAA games to other platforms. Make Total sense to me. Exclusives don’t make much sense anymore unless it’s a 1st party title.

Yea SE’s analysts way over projected their numbers for sure. FF has been on the decline in sales in recent years so making it exclusive to PS just never made sense to me. Seems they finally realized that too.

Definitely understandable. It really is one of the best. With the Switch 2 coming up within (hopefully) the next year, the OG switch might finally get a price drop. Might be a good time to get one again.

I don’t think you understand what my point was. Gamepass was built to sustain smaller projects that aren’t massive sellers. Its whole point is to add to its library of games.

While I'd love to see a bunch of first party AA titles fill out GamePass, I wouldn't say the service is at all "pointless" without them. You are getting access to over 400 games for a crazy low price, with new titles added every 2 weeks. If you play just *one single game* per month from GamePass - you've gotten your money's worth at it's current price (or even if we imagine $20/month). The value it brings is absolutely unmatched in the industry, even if we assume Xbox Game Studios contributes zero titles. IMO it's worth it just for the indie games alone, because chances are I'll never hear about most of them otherwise, let alone have the confidence to drop even $5 on them. I'll be a GamePass subscriber as long as the service continues, even if it's ultimately just for PC games.

I agree. I primarily use game pass to play games these days, as I only buy a handful of games otherwise. Plus, it’s easy to turn off for a while and then come back to it.

Gamepass is definitely worth IMO. The value of it is incredible. Xbox closing studios just goes against everything gamepass was meant for. It’s supposed to be able to back the smaller titles and let developers have creative freedom. I will always recommend gamepass to most gamers but it’s still frustrating.
