Woah woah woah. I got an old boat and its 100% less maintenance then a new one. Take care of tht old evinrude with regular maintenance and she'll take care of you!

Wouldn't a constrictor knot work..? knot doesn't have to be great if you get to it fighting a fish your screwed anyway..👍

Rebuild my lower unit and made a new wiring harness from scratch recently. Generally speaking, an old motor will cost someone alot of money.

@@FishingExplained Well very generally, I've got a Merc made in the 80's and with regular maintenance it's fine, never had it break down unexpectedly on me. And it hasn't been that much more money grubbing than the newer ones my friends etc have. The parts aren't that expensive (at least imo) what's expensive is when people take them to repair shops and never learn to just do it themselves.

Or I use it for dead sticking perch on the ice or boat! Find the right depth there biting and move the line over the clip, you can still feel it up , and lets you get it down super fast without having to let line out and adjust!! Your welcome
